Acadia

I stand atop a grassy peak
Overlooking a vast expanse of blue
Whispering winds whirl around me
Caressing my skin as smooth as silk.

Alone, I close my eyes, lift my arms and
My soul sails away.

I'm flying, floating on a cloud above the
Huge azure ball, circling on without end
Stars and space spin around me and
All slips away until there is only
The breeze, the waves, the stars, and me.

A cough.

No longer weightless,
My feet touch down on the grassy peak
A hand on my shoulder, I turn...oh, must we?
My voyage is done; it's time to leave.
