Season 1
Daniel: "Captain Doctor, you're going to love this."
Daniel: "Look, ah, I don't pretend to know anything about astrophysics but couldn't the planets change? I mean, ah, drift apart or something to throw this map off?"
Carter: "I knew I'd like you."
Daniel: "You mean I'm right?"Daniel: "They don't know what to do with me. And I don't know what to do with myself."
Daniel: "Anyway. As soon as you were gone they realized they were free. I mean, Abydos was their world for the taking."
O'Neill: "Had a little party, did you?"
Daniel: "Oh yeah. A big, big party. They treated me like their savior. It was, uh, embarrassing."
O'Neill: "It's amazing you turned out so normal."
Daniel: "Well, if it wasn't for Sha're I probably..." He cuts himself off, thinking of Sha're. "She was the complete opposite of everyone else. She practically fell on the floor laughing every time I tried to do some chore they all took for granted. Like, um, grinding yafetta flour. I mean, have you ever tried to grind your own flour?"Daniel: "Oh, he's dead. He's definitely dead. I mean...the bomb...I mean, he's got to be dead, right?"
Hammond: "Your team will be designated SG-1. The team will consist of yourself, Captain Carter..."
Daniel: "...and me?"
Hammond: "Dr. Jackson, we need you to work as a consultant with the other SG-1 teams from here. Your expertise in ancient cultures and languages are far too valuable..."
Daniel: "No, um, look, uh, I mean, I know this is your decision but, ah, I really have to be on their team. My wife is out there, General, I need to go."Daniel, seeing O'Neill and Carter with their guns raised: "Unless we want to give ourselves a bad reputation, I think we should avoid shooting the first people we meet on a new planet."
Daniel, offering himself to the Jaffa picking: "How much would I remember if you chose me?"
O'Neill: "Daniel, what are you doing?!"
Daniel: "Something of the host must survive."Carter: "When was the last time you slept?"
Daniel: "I don't know."
Carter: "Doesn't help when the whole base goes on alert every two hours."
Daniel: "No, it's not that. It's just that...my mind races and I can't stop thinking about Sha're. Where she is, what she's become."
Carter: "But you can't stay awake forever."
Daniel, raising his Styrofoam coffee cup: "I can try. You're right. I'll meet you at the next briefing."Daniel: "This is crazy. We don't know what could be there waiting for us when we come through."
Makepeace: "Don't you worry, boys. That's why the SG-3 marines are coming with. You can count on us to watch your backsides."
Daniel: "Actually, it was more my front side I was worrying about."O'Neill, to Daniel and handing him some big goggles: "You're late. Put these on."
Daniel: "It doesn't look like my prescription."O'Neill: "Daniel, what are they?"
Daniel: "Well, the don't look completely homo sapiens. Ah, the larger brow ridge would imply homo erectus, but then again they'd have canine teeth. Ah, it could be ostoropithicus but then the brow ridge would be less prominent..."
O'Neill: "You don't know, do you?"
Daniel: "No."Daniel: "Now, just, just...wait a minute!"
Hammond: "Dr. Jackson, you're wasting your breath. You've already won the argument."
Daniel: "But I have to insist you...what, what, what? I've already won?"Daniel: "Jack, here you are. Got on the internet to do a little research on ostelopificus and...wow. What happened to you?"
O'Neill: "Oh, I got into a little wrestling match with Carter."
Daniel: "Why...?"
O'Neill: "I guess she's got whatever Johnson's got. I had to drag her off to the infirmary."
Daniel: "What, did she start a fight with you like Johnson did with Teal'c?"
O'Neill: "No, she, uh, tried to seduce me."
Daniel: "Oh. You...poor man."Fraiser: "I have never seen anything like this on Earth."
Daniel: "Exactly. On Earth."Daniel, about the people on the Dark Side: "We came in contact with them. Isn't that special."
Fraiser: "So, the question is, why haven't you and Mr. Teal'c come down with the symptoms?"
Daniel: "Ah, Mr. Teal'c...Teal'c's symbiote probably protects him."
Teal'c: "That would be likely."
Fraiser: "What about you, Dr. Jackson?"
Daniel: "That beats me. You're the doctor, Doctor. Ah, maybe I have a natural immunity."
Teal'c: "Perhaps you will develop symptoms later."
Daniel: "Thank you for the moral support."Daniel: "This tastes like chicken."
Carter: "So what's wrong with it?"
Daniel: "It's macaroni and cheese."Carter: "You know, he had this in him, Daniel. Too many years of black ops."
Daniel: "Well, that's typical of our government's evaluation of soldiers. The crazier they are the more extreme the situation they seem to be put into." He casts a sidelong glance at O'Neill behind them.Daniel, over a walkie-talkie: "Jack, we've finished our recon, loaded up Fred and are ready to head back through the Gate. Is this...am I using this right?"
Daniel: "Teal'c, we need your help."
Teal'c: "Your world is a strange place."
Daniel: "...so's yours."Daniel: "WHOA!!! Captain Doctor, Teal'c!" Daniel makes a bunch of truly darling hand motions. "It was me!....It was me."
Daniel, to Secretary: "I'm sorry. I thought we were explorers."
Carter to Daniel who's feeling her chest through her ripped clothes: "Hey, what are you looking at?!"
Daniel: "I felt that blast kill me. I mean, I thought I...I thought we were dead. Weren't we dead?"
Carter: "Yeah..."
Daniel: "Ok. Well I thought heaven would be a little more upscale."Carter, about Shak'l: "Well, we can't just walk away. If we hadn't attacked Apophis, he wouldn't even be here."
Daniel: "And we can't kill him, either." Everyone stares at him, shocked by his suggestion. "I wasn't considering it, I was just stating a fact..."Opher, taking sap of the tree and eating it: "Mmmm. You?" He offers it to Daniel.
Daniel: "Oh, no, thank you. I'm...trying to quit."Opher: "I am four hundred and thirty-two years old."
Daniel: "Well, ah, you look great."Daniel, to O'Neill who just produced a sharp weapon: "Where did that come from?"
O'Neill: "Well, the wee folks missed one. So Shak'l thinks we're unarmed, Apophis thinks he's invulnerable..."
Daniel: "And they're right...I think I found the flaw in your plan..."Carter: "Where did you learn how to do this?"
Daniel: "Ah, uh, on a dig in the Yucatan. After the first one, I made friends with the local midwife and they taught me a lot."
Carter: "How many babies have you delivered?"
Daniel: "Two. Counting today."Alecos: "Unto every man the Creator gives one hundred blissful days. It is a sin not to celebrate each and every one."
Daniel: "A 100-day celebration? Guess we should pace ourselves."Daniel, upon hearing Cimmeria's residents welcoming SG-1 with laughter and shouts to Thor: "This is different."
Catherine: "When did you become an upstanding member of the military?"
Daniel: "I'm not...exactly."O'Neill: "Daniel, before your head explodes, can I remind you that we have more important things to deal with right now?"
Daniel: "How can you say that? Don't you know what this could mean?"
O'Neill: "Actually, no."
Daniel: "This could be the key to understanding our existence. Everyone, everything's existence."Daniel: "What you did was courageous."
Ernest: "What I did was stupid."
O'Neill: "Come on, boys, we've go to go, now."
Daniel: "I'm staying."
O'Neill: "What?!"
Daniel: "Look, I will be fine down here."
O'Neill: "Daniel, we can come back."
Daniel: "No. What if the castle crumbles around the Gate? This...this could all be lost. If I stay, I could unbury the Gate again."
O'Neill: "What if the Gate falls into the ocean?"
Daniel: "I am willing to take that risk."
O'Neill, grabbing him roughly: "I'm not. Let's go."
Daniel, breaking away: "Jack, please!" O'Neill lets him go, Daniel returns to the device, wrestles with his mind, and finally comes with O'Neill.O'Neill: "Captain, I want you and Daniel to go back to the Stargate and take up positions where you can lay down fire cover. We may need it."
Carter: "Yes, Sir."
Daniel: "Ah...minutes ago we were warriors of great skill and cunning."Carter, to Daniel when she sees he's aiming a gun at the Goa'uld tank: "Daniel, what are you thinking?"
Daniel: "Just that every single one of those infant Goa'uld will one day take a human life. And all I have to do is..."
Carter: "If we kill them when they're as vulnerable as they are right now we're no better than the Goa'uld. Let's go." They take six steps, and Daniel turns and blasts the tank.Daniel, looking at his granola bar and thinking of something: "Do you think these things need to be fed?"
Daniel: "Ok, that's interesting. Now what the hell does it mean?"
Daniel: "Hey, you are asking me to remember something that happened thousands and thousands of years before I was born. To tell you something that I couldn't possibly know."
Nem: "You deceive!"
Daniel: "WHY? God, why, why, why would I do that?!"
Nem: "You serve the Goa'uld!"
Daniel: "No! No! Now I lost my wife, my, my mate because of the Goa'uld. They took her from me and I despise them for that."Daniel: "Well, I would rather die than stay here in the knowledge that I will never be able to see my wife and friends again."
Daniel: "Ah, this, this is a long story."
Carter: "Yeah, I'll bet."
O'Neill: "Tell us about it over sushi."
Daniel: "That's funny. I will, after I go get some sleep."
O'Neill: "Ah, home. Yeah, about that apartment."
Daniel: "Oh, you didn't!"
Carter: "The day after the memorial service."
Daniel: "Memorial service?"
Carter: "Colonel said some really nice things."
Daniel: "He did." (long pause) "He did?"Daniel: "Hathor was the Egyptian goddess of fertility, inebriety, and music."
O'Neill: "Sex, drugs, and Rock 'N Roll?"
Daniel: "In a manner of speaking, yeah."Daniel: "I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Ra is dead."
Hathor: "How?"
Daniel: "He was killed."
Hathor: "This is wonderful."
Daniel: "It...is."Daniel, to Fraiser who's pondering the thought of getting Hathor's DNA and stuff: "A lot of that will probably be mine."
O'Neill: "Eww."
Daniel: "Yeah."Daniel: "So what exactly are we going to see after this eclipse begins? I mean, it is black and it is a hole..."
O'Neill: "Well, it might be a black hole."
Daniel: "Ok, let me put that a different way...."
Carter: "No, Daniel, you're right. You can't actually see it. Not the singularity itself. It's so massive not even light can escape it. But during the eclipse we should be able to see matter spiraling towards it."
O'Neill: "Actually, it's called the Ecretian Disk."
Daniel: "Well, I guess it's easy to understand why the local population would be afraid of something like that...what did you just say?"Daniel: "How is she?"
Carter: "She's fine. Sleeping."
Daniel: "Um, if you want, I can sit with her tomorrow for a few hours."
Carter: "No, we're ok."
Daniel: "Ok."
Carter: "It's just...I want to do this."
Daniel: "Ok. But I guess what I'm saying is you don't have to do this alone."Teal'c: "The Goa'uld visit here regularly. It is one of their favorite places to harvest hosts for Goa'uld absorption."
Daniel: "You know, I wish you wouldn't say 'harvest.' We're talking about human beings not...brussels sprouts."O'Neill: "Innocent until proven guilty. Heard of it?"
Daniel: "Actually, throughout history the idea is pretty rare. Most cultures usually assumed things the other way around." Jack shoots him one of his looks. "I'm just...saying..."Daniel: "Are you sure you're up to this?"
O'Neill: "Why? You don't think I am?"
Daniel: "Well, it's just that I've never actually heard you referred to as a diplomat. I think, um, antagonist was the word used."Daniel: "Yes. It was difficult for me at first, I wanted to hate him. But now I know it was a different Teal'c that chose Sha're and I now that if there were any way for him to help me get my wife back he would do it gladly. Even if it meant giving up his own life. This Teal'c is my friend."
Daniel: "The truth is our defense."
Daniel: "No, I have to admit, Teal'c, for once I have to agree with Jack. I respect your wishes but I do not believe you deserve to die."
Daniel: "Self-determination is a concept that's very important to us."
Tin Man
Daniel, suddenly finding his hand fascinating: "It's incredible. It looks like mine, it feels like mine, it is mine. I mean, I don't feel any different. If anything, I feel better."
Daniel: "Teal'c, are you ok?"
Teal'c: "Why?"
Daniel: "Well, for starters you've lost your infant Goa'uld."
Teal'c: "I still feel its presence."
Daniel: "Really? That must be like continuing to feel a limb after it's lost."
O'Neill: "Oh, for crying out loud. Daniel, I'm glad you're so fascinated by all this but it's time for a little reality check, ok? We are being held prisoner by our own people."
Daniel: "Well, they can't keep us in here forever. I mean..."
O'Neill: "Why not? What do you think is going to happen? You really think military intelligence is going to let us continue as SG-1 like this?"
Daniel: "We still have our rights, Jack."There But For the Grace of God
O'Neill: "Carter! Daniel!"
Carter: "Found a souvenir shop, Sir."
O'Neill: "We're out of here."
Daniel: "What? Why? This place is a treasure chest of artifacts from diverse human culture."
O'Neill: "Daniel, I don't want to hear it. Let's go."
Daniel: "You don't want to...hear it."Daniel: "Jack! Sam! Teal'c! Oh, I really hate when this happens."
Daniel: "Ok. Um, I figured out how to work the Stargate. You recruited me to translate the cartouche found at Giza. I went through on the first mission to Abydos. And unless the last two years have been some wacky, wacky dream, I am a member of SG-1."
Daniel: "Ok, this is starting to get a little spooky. Now, a few hours ago, everything about this place was different. I mean, well, I mean not completely different. I mean, you're still...you...sort of."
O'Neill: "What can you tell me about the Goa'uld?"
Daniel: "What?"
O'Neill: "The Goa'uld? You know who they are?"
Daniel: "Uh, yeah..."
O'Neill: "Tell me what you know."
Daniel: "Ok. Now, maybe I've completely lost my mind here but as far as I'm concerned we know each other very well. You know everything that I know. Look, I am a member of SG-1 with you, Captain Carter, and Teal'c...where...where is Teal'c?" Seeing they have no idea who Daniel's talking about, he continues. "Big guy, gold emblem on his head, Goa'uld in his stomach, you can't miss him."Daniel: "I feel like the victim of the biggest practical joke ever."
Daniel: "This isn't happening. This is nuts. This isn't happening. This isn't happening..." He raises his hand to his eyes, thinking. "Is it...is it possible that the Stargate malfunctioned or went haywire and...and I came through into a totally screwed up, different version of Earth?"
Carter: "No. I doubt that. The Stargate uses space-time to create a wormhole that allows us to travel across great distances, but it doesn't take you to an alternate reality."
Daniel: "Alternate...reality?"
Carter: "Well, basically scientists have theorized that there are an infinite number of dimensions, each containing a different possible version of reality."
Daniel: "Well it sounds like I theoretically, possibly, actually found one."
Catherine: "One what?"
Daniel: "What Sam said. A...an alternate reality, a parallel plane. I mean, wouldn't that explain why everything here is the same but...different? I mean..."
Carter: "Well, the theory is that there are an infinite number of alternate realities, some of them are very different and some are almost identical."
Daniel: "That has to be what this is! So this isn't...my world at all. This is some sort of..." he begins laughing "...other dimension?!"Daniel: "Uh oh."
Carter: "What?"
Daniel: "I think I'm dead."Daniel: "The Jack O'Neill that I know would do it."
O'Neill: "Well apparently you and I have never met."
Daniel: "No, I guess not. Look, all I know is that because I came here, I have seen what can happen. Now I have a chance to keep this from happening to the Earth that I come from if you help me."Daniel: "Jack...we're all in very big trouble. They're coming. They're coming."
Daniel: "Senator, we have reason to believe the Goa'uld are about to land and attack on ships."
Kinsey: "Then I think they'll regret taking on the United States military!"
O'Neill: "Oh, for God's sake..."
Daniel: "Oh, you're right. We'll just upload a virus into the mother ship."Daniel, to Senator Kinsey: "You're a fool."
Daniel, about Kinsey: "Sir, with all due respect, the Senator is an ass."
Daniel: "Jack, if we don't go through what I saw in the other reality could happen here. This whole planet could be wiped out. Now, in the other reality by the time I left Sara was dead. Carter, your whole family was dead. Hell, I was dead. Everyone was dead."
O'Neill: "Daniel, I got it."
Daniel: "Okay! Well, don't you think we should see if we can stop the same slaughter from happening here? Let me ask you something, Jack. If we don't go through now and the Goa'uld do attack later, how are you going to feel?"Carter: "How are just the four of us going to stop the attack anyway? Even if we do go through."
Daniel: "Well, we'd have a much better chance now than we would trying to stop an overwhelming onslaught later. Trust me, I have seen it."Daniel, entering the coordinates and not getting a connection: "Uh oh."
O'Neill: "Well, I suggest the two of you figure out how to get us back home."
Carter: "Sir, the only way to do that would be to turn this thing around and go back to where we started."
Daniel: "Right, I'll just go tell the pilot."Season 2
Daniel: "It isn't dark. We're blind. And we failed."
O'Neill, seeing a huge wound on Daniel's chest and shoulder: "Daniel! Damn it!"
Daniel: "I'm dead anyway, just get outta here!"
O'Neill: "I am not leaving you here, Daniel."
Daniel: "Get outta here! It's just going to blow up with the other ship anyway. What difference does it make? Go! Just go! I'll stay and watch your back."Talia: "Your world is an amazing place."
Daniel: "It can be."Daniel, seeing that rude guy from the hospital: "Hey, I know you." He grabs Daniel and holds a gun to his head. "Jeez."
Teal'c: "I am sorry, Daniel Jackson." He shoots him with a zat gun, kills the Ashrak, and comes over by Daniel who is twitching in pain. "Are you injured?"
Daniel: "Dumb question. But thank you. I think."
Teal'c: "You are welcome."
Daniel: "Just don't ever do that again."Daniel, to Teal'c who's holding Vishnor against a wall by his neck: "Teal'c, I think he's had enough."
Daniel: "Although I am fairly certain that this structure is the ruins of some sort alien gate terminal, probably over 15,000 years old. Now that almost certainly predates human civilization." O'Neill shoots him his 'get to the point, already' look. "Which is not of any use, per se...."
Daniel: "What happened?"
O'Neill: "Well, you actually won a fight, Danny Boy."
Daniel: "I don't particularly remember getting the upper hand."
Carter: "Neither do I but you must have."
Daniel: "P2A 509."
O'Neill: "Little brain damage along the way?"
Daniel: "No, uh, SG-3 was scheduled to go on a mission to P2A 509. General Hammond said so in our last planning briefing. We rendezvous with SG-3 and we use their remote transmitters to get home."
O'Neill: "And this just...came to you?"
Daniel: "No, this came to me while I was suffocating."Carter: "This is beautiful."
O'Neill: "But where there's a garden, there's snakes."
Daniel: "And flowers." He sneezes. "Way too many flowers."Daniel: "Oh, Sam, please, just tell me this isn't real."
Daniel: "You have to come out of there."
Daniel's father: "Danny. Go back outside."
Daniel: "Danny.... No, look, you have to come out right now because...because I've hurt myself. I hurt myself badly. I think I may have broken my leg. Now you have to come out right now and take care of me."Daniel: "Oh super. So it takes one of the most tragic moments of my life and plays it over and over again."
Keeper: "You have always wished to go back and do things differently. I have given you that opportunity. Now go, make things right in this place."
Daniel: "And how do I...how do I do that?"
Keeper: "Well, if I told you that it wouldn't be any fun, would it?" He laughs.
Daniel, appalled: "FUN?! Th...th...that's what you think this is for me?! Fun watching this happen again and again?!"Daniel, seeing his parents die for the third time: "DAMN YOU. Stop this game, NOW!"
Keeper: "Whatever for? You haven't explored all of your options yet."
Daniel: "Well, obviously my options are infinite and my solutions are zero. Now STOP IT..." He realizes something. "I won't play any more."Keeper: "You must try another alternative."
Daniel: "No."
Keeper: "You would allow your parents to suffer this awful death?"
Daniel: "I won't play your game."O'Neill: "You guys alright?"
Daniel: "Well, I'm not really sure, to tell you the truth."Shyla: "In return for saving your life, please do not try to escape again. I have taken personal responsibility for you."
Daniel: "...Ok."
Shyla: "It would also be rude of you to try and harm me in any way."
Daniel: "Well, you do realize it's also kinda rude to kidnap people and chain them up in a mine."Shyla, getting excited: "You know of the sarcophagus?"
Daniel: "Yeah, I've...I've used one before. Couple of times too many if you ask me."Shyla: "I know you must've seen much in your travels, but...surely you've never seen anything quite so beautiful. We call them trees."
Daniel: "Ah! Uh, so do we."Daniel: "I don't...I don't want to spoil this little repoire we seem to have going here...."
Shyla: "That sounds almost romantic."
Daniel: "Oh boy, ok, um, here's the thing. Look, I am very grateful to you that you saved my life and that you want to help me free my friends, but I'm sensing that you did it because your, ah..."
Shyla: "Because you're my destiny."
Daniel: "Whuah....What?"
Shyla: "Before she died, my mother-in-law used to come out here and take long walks at night. You can see every star in the sky through the treetops."
Daniel: "No, see, about the destiny thing?"
Shyla: "She used to tell me how a great man would come from beyond the sun, just for me."
Daniel: "Oh boy."Shyla: "Do not worry about your friends. I have instructed the guards to treat them well."
Daniel: "I'm sorry, this is unacceptable. I can't be up here like this when they're down there."
Shyla: "We will change my father's mind about them."
Daniel: "Yeah. I don't think you're understanding what they mean to me."
Shyla: "It may just take some time."
Daniel: "Or maybe you do."Daniel, really zapped from using the sarcophagus: "She wants me to marry her."
O'Neill: "What? Alright, look...."
Daniel, his voice rising three levels in intensity: "No, you look, Jack!!! I have everything under control, ok? God, you never show me any respect! Your way didn't work. Now I'm handling it. All you have to do is hang in there!"O'Neill, cornering Daniel in the storage room where Daniel just shot a light out with a gun: "Geez, dammit! Daniel! Are you trying to kill me?"
Daniel: "You're trying to kill me."
O'Neill: "There'll be guards here in thirty seconds."
Daniel: "I'm going back."
O'Neill: "You don't have to! Fraiser says you're getting better."
Daniel: "You're lying!"
O'Neill: "Why would I do that?!" Daniel rushes him, and they fight for a few minutes. Daniel turns out to be really strong with that sarcophagus drug in him. Finally Daniel gets the gun and aims it at O'Neill.
O'Neill: "Daniel! God...What're you going to do, Daniel? Do you want to kill me?" His voice softens. "Look at you. I know what this is. I know what it's like. You can get through it..." Daniel finally breaks down crying, and O'Neill pulls him into a hug.Gairwyn, leading Carter and Daniel to a post in the middle of the forest: "This is it."
Daniel: "This is the Hall of Might?"
Gairwyn: "You were expecting something different?"
Daniel: "Well, ah, uh, maybe a hall...."Daniel, turning on his flashlight to point directly in his eyes: "Ack!"
Daniel, as the floor drops away and a very thin bridge appears over the hole: "Oh, this is definitely a test."
Carter: "So, uh, we're supposed to go across this."
Daniel: "I don't suppose this is the best time to bring up my problems with heights...."Daniel: "You mean you're the real Thor? This is...this is...this is great. Um, we need your help. The Goa'uld are here."
Thor: "Impossible. Cimmeria is a safe world."
Daniel: "Yeah. We sorta messed that up."Daniel: "Before they rode into battle the Sioux used to say 'This is a good day to die.'" O'Neill hits him. There's a bunch of thunder. "Then again, maybe not."
Carter: "Lieutenant, I'd like to record this."
Simmons: "Whatever you say, Captain."
Carter: "Try to relax, Graham, or it's going to be a long day."
Daniel, quietly and with a silly grin plastered to his face: "I don't think it's the artifact. He gets like that every time he's around you. Maybe a crush."
Simmons: "We're recording...now." Carter and Daniel both freeze.
Carter: "Thank you, Lieutenant." Simmons gets very uncomfortable.
Daniel: "Oops. Hey! The artifact!Daniel: "General, I don't know what to say. I wanted the artifact to be something wonderful."
Hammond: "Assuming you're right, what are they trying to communicate?"
Daniel: "Well, they could be saying 'Take me to your leader' for all I know. I have no idea." Carter and Hammond just stare at him. "The point it that they're trying. We never even began to consider that what we're up against here is an alien intelligence. We've treated it like a disease, like a plague. Not once have we stopped to listen."O'Neill, wearing a serpent guard uniform: "No wonder these guys are always cranky. Let me out of this thing."
Daniel: "Jack, where the hell have you been?"O'Neill: "Daniel, you said you'd go back there in a year with Sha're."
Daniel: "Ah, I know that. But at least I can tell her father that I haven't given up. That I won't give up."Teal'c: "This is most difficult, Daniel Jackson. We must return with Sha're through the Stargate immediately."
Daniel: "Why?"
Teal'c: "As long as the Goa'uld within her sleeps, Sha're shares its memories."Daniel: "So? So...so what?"
Teal'c: "It would be of great strategic benefit to have access to the genetic memory, even for a few days."
Daniel: "What?! Access??? Do you...do you know who it is we're talking about?!"
Teal'c: "I do. And soon she will give birth."
Daniel: "Well hasn't she gone through enough? I mean, what are you...what are you talking about here, Teal'c? Handing her over to Mayborne for study?"
Teal'c: "The knowledge she possesses could one day save your world."
Daniel: "I don't care!!! I will not put her through that, too! I'm sorry!"
Teal'c: "More sorry for yourself it appears than for Sha're. Within a matter of days Sha're will give birth. The Goa'uld within her will reawaken. Apophis will take this child and leave Abydos forever. That is the fate you choose for Sha're by allowing her to stay."
Daniel: "Then I'd like a moment with my wife...alone."Sha're: "You hate me."
Daniel: "No. No, I love you."
Sha're: "Will you forgive me?"
Daniel: "Oh, God." He walks over to her and hugs her. "There's nothing to forgive."
Sha're: "I'm so ashamed."
Daniel: "I hate what's been done to you. I hate what Apophis plans for the child growing inside of you. Look at me. I love you. Everything else....I love you."Daniel, about Sha're: "I am not leaving her."
Daniel: "Look at me. Look at me! I love you. I will always love you. Do you understand? The Goa'uld will never be able to take that away from us. Do you understand that? Never."
Daniel: "Sha're is strong, good father. She will not give up. And neither will I."
Heru-Ur: "You are nothing. Your world is nothing. Once I have conquered Apophis I will make slaves of your people. You will serve me."
Daniel: "No, I don't think so."O'Neill: "You alright?"
Daniel: "No. No I'm not. But I will be."Daniel, seeing a swarm of bugs: "Uh, we better get out of here."
O'Neill: "No, really?"
Daniel: "No, really!!!"Harlow: "Can you retract that flap for me, please?"
Daniel, looking around the room hoping the doctor was talking to someone else but not seeing anyone: "Me?"
Harlow: "It's perfectly sedated."Teal'c: "To show you my gratitude, I have brought you a new weapon, one with increased range and firepower."
Ally: "Wicked! This is sooo cool! Have any time to play?"
Daniel: "Ah, actually...." Ally shoots Teal'c, then runs away. "Guess we shouldn't have loaded it, huh?"
Teal'c: "How else will she defend herself?" He shoots Daniel, then runs after Ally.
Daniel: "How else?"Carter: "That's because you don't use the sarcophagus, right?"
Martouf: "That's correct. We believe to do so would drain the good from our hearts."
Daniel, quietly: "I can vouch for that."Martouf, after saying Selmak was going to die: "Unless one of you wishes to volunteer to serve as a host."
O'Neill: "I'm gonna pass on that."
Daniel: "Yes. Although it does sound very fascinating, I think it's a little too long term for me."Teal'c, seeing the disappearing tunnels: "Chelnak!"
Daniel: "Loose translation, very cool."O'Neill, to Daniel and Teal'c: "You guys stay here." He leaves.
Daniel: "We'll...stay here."Teal'c: "It is as if they disappeared where they were standing."
Daniel: "Creepy...."Tonani, as the alarm sounds throughout the base: "What's that sound mean, Daniel?"
Daniel: "It means that....it means that I'm going to show you a part of the base most people rarely get to see." He leads Tonani into the storage room.Daniel, who has just overheard the "spirits" plotting to destroy the base and trying to act calm: "Anyway, like I was saying, um, this is a store room, and the reason we store things is so that we always have them on hand." He grabs a package of something like salt. "Like this."
Tonani: "Can I go home now?"
Daniel: "Ok, Tonani, I won't lie to you. There is a problem. We have to find Jack."
Tonani: "Ok." He glances around the room. "He's not in here."
Daniel: "Right."Daniel, seeing Teal'c hold a zat gun at him: "Jack?"
O'Neill: "Daniel?"
Daniel: "Are you you?"
O'Neill: "Yeah. You?"
Daniel: "What?"
O'Neill: "Never mind."Daniel, to Tekaya in her wolf form: "Tekaya, before you make me disappear or...bite me...just hear me out."
O'Neill: "How do I know you're really Daniel?"
Daniel: "...Because."Daniel: "Hey, Jack, did I miss anything?"
Daniel, shouting to an empty room: "Helloo! Helloo! I'm Daniel Jackson. We're peaceful explorers from the planet Earth." O'Neill stares questioningly at him. "It's worth a try."
Hammond: "Colonel? Are you sure you're okay?"
O'Neill: "I am absolutely fine. There is nothing cruvus with me." Everyone stares at him. "What?"
Daniel: "You just said there's nothing cruvus with you."
O'Neill: "I did not."
Daniel: "Yes, you did."
O'Neill: "No I didn't."
Daniel: "Yes, you did."
O'Neill: "Didn't."
Daniel: "Did."
O'Neill: "Didn't."
Daniel: "Did."
O'Neill: "Cruvus? What is that?"
Daniel: "I don't know."Hammond: "What does it mean?"
Daniel: "Oh, well, my translation is a little bit vague. Um, I think the circle means 'the place of our legacy'...or it could be 'a piece of our leg' but the first seems to make more sense."Daniel: "Well, if Jack's not going then I have to stay."
Hammond: "Why is that, Doctor?"
Daniel: "Well, if Sam and Teal'c make contact with the Ancients, then they can report back and...and...then Jack and I will go. But...until then, I mean, translating this language may be the most important thing we've done since we opened the Stargate. You see, I'm pretty sure that Jack is speaking the language of the original Gate builders. At the very least I'm positive that it is one of the races who created the repository of knowledge on Ernest's planet. The, uh, meaning of life stuff."
Carter: "And Sir, I believe that the equation Colonel O'Neill wrote on the blackboard is a revolutionary formula for calculating the distance between planetary bodies."
Daniel: "And bottom line, Sir, what about Jack? I mean, right now I'm possibly his only hope for communicating on any serious level. I can't leave him like this. And I won't."Hammond, after the scientists feed a lot of nonsense scientific terms to him and Daniel: "Do you understand what he said?"
Daniel: "Sounds like they have no idea."Daniel, handing the scientists the device O'Neill made: "Here, you guys can, uh, work on this for awhile."
Siler: "What is it?"
Daniel: "No idea. Well, actually, not no idea, just not much of one yet. But...work on it."Daniel: "You heard him yourself, he wants sanctuary."
O'Neill: "I'm not buying that."
Daniel: "He gambled we would show compassion even to our worst enemy. He was right."Apophis, smiling: "Ammonet. I loved her. You do not believe me."
Daniel: "No. No. I don't think that's possible."
Apophis: "How could you? Our minds, our knowledge, our very being is so much greater, so much more."
Daniel, his voice now becoming deadly quiet: "I know where your child is."
Apophis: "My son?"
Daniel: "Yes. I brought him into the world with my own hands."
Apophis: "He was taken by Heru-Ur."
Daniel: "No. By me."
Apophis: "I have to live through the child now. Ammonet. I knew the moment I laid eyes on her she was a vessel for a queen."
Daniel, leaning closer to him and deadly serious: "If you don't tell me where she is, I'll kill you right here."
Apophis: "You have neither the strength nor the will."Daniel, as they're trying to dial out of the Stargate: "The only thing I'm worried about is that..." He's cut off as the Stargate opens again.
Simmons: "Incoming wormhole established."
Daniel: "...Sokar can dial in faster than we can dial out."After Daniel and Machello have switched bodies:
O'Neill: "Alright. Describe for me the dress your sister wore last week when I took her out."
Daniel in Machello's body: "I don't have a sister, Jack, and if I did I wouldn't let you near her."Carter, to a motionless Daniel: "Come on, Daniel, they found the guy, they're bringing him in. You have to wake up. Daniel...you can't die on me now."
Daniel, weakly: "It's...nice to know you don't just like me for my looks."Daniel: "You have made great sacrifices. We owe you gratitude. But still it doesn't give you the right to take another's life."
Machello: "If you had the technology, you would do the same."
Daniel: "No, I wouldn't because then I would become no better than the Goa'uld."
Machello, insistently: "I am not a Goa'uld. I hate the Goa'uld."
Daniel: "The Goa'uld use hosts because they think they're better than humans. Because they think they deserve it. You're a Goa'uld, Machello. I am nothing but a host to you."
Machello: "I am not a Goa'uld."
Daniel: "My wife is still alive. There's a chance I can still save her. You are stealing that chance."
Machello: "Even if you still had this body, you will never find her."
Daniel, very insistently: "I will find her. I will find..." His heartbeat stops.Daniel: "Déjà vu."
Teal'c: "I am unfamiliar with that term."
Daniel: "Um, it means I feel like I've been here before."
Teal'c: "That is correct, Daniel Jackson. Yesterday. When we first arrived on this planet."
Daniel: "Right. What was I thinking?"Daniel, to the alien: "Hi!" The alien runs away making a high-pitched sound. "Well, I guess that was the wrong thing to say."
Daniel, surrounded by the aliens: "Try smiling."
O'Neill: "This is bizarre."
Carter, the aliens closing in around them: "Ah, Daniel?"
Daniel: "Keep smiling. Don't move."
Teal'c: "I am not fond of this."
O'Neill: "Me neither."
Daniel: "They just want to see what we feel like." One of the aliens takes his knife. "Oh, hey, wait!"
O'Neill: "What?"
Daniel, smiling pleasantly as if actually saying "Oh, isn't that nice!": "One of them got my knife."Daniel: "Well, I have to admit this is one of the stranger cultures I've ever seen. As far as I can tell they're communal, but there's very little sign of actual social communication. I haven't seen any tools or signs of a functional civilization."
O'Neill: "So they're a little less evolved than we are."
Daniel: "Well, we don't want to jump to any conclusions. Remember the Nox."
Carter: "And they did build these homes."
O'Neill: "That's a kind appraisal. What about the UAV?"
Daniel: "Well, I've tried everything I know about rudimentary communication, and, to be honest, I've had more successful conversations with dogs."
O'Neill: "So...."
Daniel: "So they're probably a little less evolved than we are."Daniel, sneezing: "I'm sorry, this is, ah, this is nothing to worry about." One of the aliens collapses. "Of course, I could be wrong...."
Daniel: "I really hope this isn't because I sneezed on him."
Carter: "They're singing."
O'Neill: "Is that what that is?"
Daniel: "Well, some Native Americans as well as African and aboriginal tribes believe that music and chants have medicinal powers."
Carter: "The sound is incredible." Another alien collapses.
Daniel: "Well, I guess it didn't work quite as they'd hoped."Daniel, seeing the grown plant shrink: "Whoa, what, ah, what...what just happened?" The alien squats down on the ground. "Right, good impression."
O'Neill: "What's up?"
Daniel: "Ah, the plant. Or at least it was."
O'Neill: "What?"
Daniel: "Well, it had grown to over six feet tall and when I came up to it it just shrank back into the ground. I'm going to back up again, see if it does it again."
O'Neill, waiting for a few seconds: "Witness if you will. Squat."
Daniel, to the alien: "Well, you saw it too." The alien squats down again. "See, just like that."
Teal'c: "Many aliens in nearby villages are ill."
Daniel, his hands to his head: "Okay, what are we going to do?"
O'Neill: "How should I know?"
Daniel: "Well, we need to do something."
O'Neill: "I agree with you. But I haven't had the brilliant revelations you seem to have had."
Daniel: "Well maybe you can try coming up with something better than inappropriate sarcasm."O'Neill, to the aliens in the room with the sick aliens: "Ah, ah, ah, ah! Get back! Get back! Fine." they leave the hut. "Knock yourself out. Go ahead. Go play in the street. Don't forget your sunblock." He turns to Daniel. "Why aren't you helping me?"
Daniel: "Oh, it's no use, they don't understand. They want to be with each other."
O'Neill: "Well, we're not going to stand around doing nothing."
Daniel: "We're not doing nothing."
O'Neill: "You're videotaping a plant."
Daniel: "Well I think this might be important."
O'Neill: "Well I think you might be losing what's left of your mind."
Daniel: "What's that supposed to mean?"
O'Neill: "It means that on a good day you can be a little flaky."
Daniel: "And on a good day you can be a little ignorant and condescending."
O'Neill: "Not condescending. You're obviously misreading a basic philosophical difference of opinion on how to handle a crisis."
Daniel: "Oh, please, we have a difference of opinion on just about everything."
O'Neill: "Give me an example."
Daniel, stuttering at first: "I don't know, pick something! How about mythology?"
O'Neill: "Rumors, lies, fairy tales."
Daniel, jumping up and down and turning all around: "See see see see see see! Mythology is one of the primary motivations for cultural development!"
O'Neill: "Maybe it is! What does it have to do with filming a plant?!"
Daniel: "Exactly!"
O'Neill: "What does that mean?!"
Daniel: "I don't know!!!"
O'Neill, falling quiet. "Okay...what was that?"
Daniel: "I don't know. I don't feel so good."
O'Neill: "I've got a headache."
Daniel: "Maybe we're getting whatever they have."O'Neill: "Listen, I, ah..."
Daniel: "No no, um, sorry, you were going to say."
O'Neill: "No, it's just that, ah, well...you know."
Daniel: "I know. I know. I know. You know that I...."
O'Neill: "I know. It's obvious there's...something...."
Daniel: "Something, something's wrong with us. Physically."
Fraiser: "Well, there's nothing wrong with you."
Daniel: "What?"O'Neill: "Daniel, we can't always expect things to go the way we want them to."
Daniel: "To go the way we want them to? I mean, one wrong move, one false step and the whole fragile world gets wiped out?" He violently scatters the stuff on the table. "We are killing a whole race of people here, how can I not care?!"
O'Neill, after another moment of silence. "What?"
Daniel: "My head hurts again."Daniel: "Jack, what happens if they come through the door behind us?"
O'Neill, whirling around with his gun raised: "What?!" Realizes Daniel didn't mean that there were actually Ritu sneaking around behind them. "Don't do that!"O'Neill, in sign language to the guard outside the infirmary: "Don't look at me. Look ahead." He turns to Daniel, still speaking with his hands. "We go in on three. One..."
Daniel, making cute little civilian signs with his fingers while mouthing some words: "There are people in there."
O'Neill, now mouthing: "I know! One, two, three!"O'Neill: "What is she doing?"
Daniel: "Ah...she said something about having to time the calculations exactly right this time of year."
O'Neill: "This time of year? What difference does it make?"
Daniel: "Ah, she said something about solar...ah...well, to be honest with you, I wasn't really paying attention."Sergeant: "Vy soveitskei shpeoni?" ("You soviet spies?")
Daniel: "Njet." ("No.")
O'Neill: "Daniel?"
Daniel: "He just asked if we were Soviet Spies. I just...." As the realization of what he just did finally dawns on him, a priceless expression crosses his face. Poor Daniel. :)Sergeant: "Come with me."
O'Neill: "Sure. You bet." To Daniel as he's leaving, "Njet."Daniel: "So what's the plan?"
O'Neill: "Find the Stargate."
Daniel: "Find the Stargate? That's...that's the plan?"
O'Neill: "Elegant in its simplicity, don't you think?"
Daniel: "And if we don't find the Stargate?"
O'Neill: "There's one in Antarctica."
Daniel: "There's one in Antarctica. That's...that's a fabulous plan."Carter: "Daniel, you can't. In order to preserve our past, Catherine has to meet you for the first time years from now."
Daniel: "Well, so we go in disguise. Pretend to be...foreigners."
O'Neill: "How're you going to do that?"
Daniel: "Well I speak 23 different languages, pick one."O'Neill: "No, it's true, Michael. We came to Earth to hide among your people a long, long time ago."
Daniel: "From a galaxy far, far away."O'Neill: "Listen, I really have to say this. The two of you have been...unbelievably..."
Daniel: "Groovy."Daniel: "I just...I really need to know exactly what happened to my friends."
Trofsky: "As I said, they were sent back through the gate. They were already dead. That's all I know."
Daniel: "What about General Hammond?"
Trofsky: "Well, I'm happy to report he lived to the ripe old age of 93."
Daniel: "So everyone I ever knew basically is gone."
Trofsky: "I'm afraid so."Daniel: "I don't understand. They said..."
Carter: "They're Goa'uld, Daniel."
Daniel: "What year is it?"
Carter: "1999, more than likely."
Daniel: "So this is all a...hoax."
O'Neill: "Big hoax. I'd say so."
Daniel: "I have more questions but that can wait."Season 3
Hathor walks up to Daniel and waves the Goa'uld in his face: "Shall it be our beloved? We could spend an eternity together. Do you not remember? The joys that we will share in one another's arms?"
Daniel: "I really try not to."Makepeace: "How's the leg? Can you walk?"
Daniel, sarcastically: "Oh, it's just a deep, bleeding gash but it'll be fine."Daniel: "I did a timeline-Boolean search for religion, cult, Set, Setesh, Setek, Set..."
O'Neill: "Yadda."
Daniel, shooting O'Neill a nasty look: "And, here's what I found."Daniel, as he and O'Neill work free of their daze and finally notice the metal ball on the floor between them: "Bomb?"
O'Neill: "Bomb."
Daniel: "The second Goa'uld representative we're expecting is Yu."
O'Neill: "Me?"
Daniel: "Yu is the name of the Goa'uld."Teal'c: "I mean no disrespect, but I have given my allegiance to you, to the SGC, and to the people of this world freely. I will, however, not see to the petty needs of the Goa'uld."
Daniel, after a tense moment of uncertainty filled the room at Teal'c's words: "I'll...see to the petty needs of the Goa'uld, Sir."Daniel: "Here we are, the VIP room. That's an acronym. It means very important. I hope this is okay."
Cronus: "Your idea of accomodation is pitiful."Daniel: "Boy, is she gonna git it."
Daniel: "Teal'c said the Linveress were being hunted by the system lords, right? Now what if they used some kind of technology to turn their bodies into...I don't know, energy. Or something."
O'Neill: "Energy."
Daniel: "Or something. I don't know exactly how, Sam can figure that part out, the point is, they're here. They've entered by infiltration and now they want me as a host."
O'Neill: "All nine of them."
Daniel: "That sounds crazy, huh?"
O'Neill: "Mmm...yeah. You gotta admit there are some holes in your theory here."
Daniel: "Well it's a theory, not a proof."
O'Neill: "Why are you the only one who can see them? Why didn't they come through my closet...aside from the fact that yours is cleaner?"
Daniel: "I don't know. The only other theory I can come up with is that I'm having some sort of...nervous breakdown."
O'Neill: "Or something."
Daniel: "Or something, yeah."Daniel, as he and O'Neill are playing chess: "Check." O'Neill makes a move. "Oh."
O'Neill: "What? Didn't see that?"
Daniel: "Actually I was oh-ing about something else. Checkmate. I should've done that two moves ago, I don't know what I was thinking."Daniel: "Jack?"
Carter: "It's us, Daniel. Can you see us?"
Daniel: "I was just making sure you weren't figments of my...mind. They took away my glasses in case I broke the lenses and tried to, ah, hurt myself."
O'Neill: "They treating you okay?"
Daniel: "Yeah." He starts crying. "I'm sorry."
O'Neill: "For what?"
Daniel, laughing sadly: "For being such a head caseCarter, on the verge of tears: "It's not your fault, Daniel."
Teal'c: "Colonel O'Neill believes it has something to do with the Linveress."
O'Neill: "You remember in that chamber you said you felt something brush by you?"
Daniel: "Yes." Thus begins his slow descent into insanity in front of them. "It was them. I know you don't believe me but I felt them. They heard me." He runs into a corner, trying to hide. "They're coming. They're coming."
Teal'c: "Only your friends are here, Daniel Jackson."
Daniel: "They're coming! I hear footsteps...footsteps."
O'Neill: "Daniel! There are no footsteps. Stay with us."
Daniel: "Footsteps!" He sees the Linveress corpse standing beside Teal'c and begins to laugh insanely, pointing to it. "I told you. It's one of them. It's right there."
Teal'c: "There is no one at my side, Daniel Jackson."
Daniel: "Yes, there is." He laughs again.
O'Neill, to Carter: "Want to get the aids?" Daniel lunges at the corpse, but Teal'c catches him. A blob falls out of Daniel's ear and into Teal'c, then Daniel rushes to the other side of the room.
Daniel: "Something just went inside Teal'c!"
O'Neill: "You're hallucinating, Daniel."
Daniel: "Well don't just stand there, get it out of him!" Dr. Mackenzie sedates him.Mackenzie: "Daniel, you need rest."
Daniel: "No, I think I've rested enough! Just...tell me one thing. Is Teal'c sick?"
Mackenzie: "Not that I'm aware of. I haven't been to the SGC." Daniel hits the padded wall in frustration. "Dr. Jackson, I insist you calm yourself otherwise I'll have to have you restrained and further sedated."
Daniel: "Why are you so quick to jump to the conclusion I'm crazy? That I'm dangerous, that I'm out of control?... Just 'cause I'm kinda acting that way, aren't I? Just, ah, I just need to get these drugs out of my system. Look, Doctor, I'm sure you probably hear this from your patients all the time but I think I'm cured."
Mackenzie: "You're right, I hear it all the time. I'm afraid it doesn't work that way. You don't get well from something like this overnight."
Daniel: "You do if there were an alien organism inside you making you think that you were sick when you really weren't."
Mackenzie: "Mmm-hmm. And you, um, found this out how?"
Daniel: "Machello told me."
Mackenzie: "Machello."
Daniel: "He's an alien old man we met on P3C 599."
Mackenzie: "Dr. Jackson, you haven't had any visitors."
Daniel: "No, of course I haven't. See, Machello is dead."
Mackenzie: "Dead? Yet he told you there was someone inside you making you appear...crazy."
Daniel: "That's a good point. I wouldn't...I wouldn't buy that if I were you either."Kawalsky, seeing Teal'c: "What the hell is he doing here?!"
O'Neill: "Kawalsky!"
Daniel: "He's a member of SG-1."
Kawalsky: "Who the hell are you?"
Daniel: "Oh, I'm...I'm...Daniel Jackson, also a member of SG-1."Daniel: "Think about it. Billions of people enslaved. I just can't help feel in the grand scheme of things that we owe them. Besides, the only way to really help Dr. Carter is to stop the Goa'uld in her reality and save whatever's left."
O'Neill: "Alright, I gotta know."
Daniel, thinking he's talking about the mirror: "Yes, I'm about to activate it."
O'Neill: "No, no, not that. What the hell does kree mean?"
Daniel: "Well, actually, it means a lot of things. Ah, loosely translated it means attention, listen up, concentrate."
O'Neill: "Yoo hoo?"
Daniel: "Yes, in a manner of speaking. "Daniel: "That doesn't make any sense. When a Goa'uld occupies a planet, they usually control the Stargate and this gate had no markings of a...." He smacks into an invisible barrier that glows red when he hits it. "Found something."
Daniel, to Arris who's taken them prisoner: "I don't suppose we could talk about this."
Arris: "Dr. Jackson, if you don't mind, treating my wound."
Daniel: "I'm an archaeologist."
Arris: "I know, but you're also a doctor."
Daniel: "...of archaeology."Daniel, as they reach the open field: "Well, this is the place."
O'Neill: "Yeah. How'd he open the door?"
Daniel: "Ah...it opened when he said that word."
O'Neill: "What was activated...what was that word?"
Daniel: "Ah, bark-something."
O'Neill: "Almond bark. Barcalounger. Beetlejuice."
Daniel: "Barkna. I think it was barkna."
O'Neill: "Well, if it was barkna, the door would be opening, wouldn't it?"
Daniel: "This was your idea."
O'Neill: "You're the linguist."
Daniel: "I don't remember."
O'Neill: "Well, try!"
Daniel: "Well, okay, I said can we talk about it, he said inside."
O'Neill: "I said inside what. He said...?"
Daniel: "Barokna!" The door opens.Daniel, giving Arris his most innocent look: "We're sorry. Is the deal still on the table?"
Daniel: "You don't seem to have much of a problem trading human lives like commodities."
Arris: "Oh, ah, Dr. Jackson, I was lying to you before. The price on your head is much more than a day's ration. Actually, the Goa'uld want to see you dead as much as anyone for figuring out the Stargate."
Daniel: "Thank you. That...doesn't make me feel any better."Daniel: "Hello. We're not going to hurt you." The woman slams the door at him and he mutters, "We're peaceful travelers."
Simon: "The time of sacrifice is at hand. The Elders will have to perform the trepanning ritual tonight to cleanse her."
Daniel: "Oh, geez."
O'Neill: "What?"
Daniel: "It was a procedure often done in the Middle Ages. They...well, they'd drill a hole in the person's head. By drilling a hole the evil spirits are released, thus saving the person from eternal damnation."
O'Neill: "Thus...saving the person?"
Daniel: "Well, they didn't call them the Dark Ages because it was dark."O'Neill: "Simon! Listen to me! Look, we've run into this kind of thing before. Now, it's not a demon. It's...demonesque, I'll grant you, but it's just a big, ugly creature."
Daniel: "Who is inhabited by a Goa'uld who gives it great strength, intelligence and the ability to regenerate."
O'Neill: "Yes. It's a very smart, resilient creature."
Daniel: "In the service of Sokar who, for all intensive purposes, is Satan to these people."
O'Neill, getting ticked at Daniel's clarifications: "But it's not a demon."
Daniel: "No, it's not a demon."Daniel, wanting to save Mary from the trepanning ritual: "Jack..."
O'Neill: "Nope."
Daniel: "We can't condemn a young girl just because one man has made a pact with the devil. Teal'c will have died for nothing if nothing good comes from this. Okay, I'll tell you what. You guys start back without me. I'm just going to go see if I can stop these people from drilling a hold in the head of a young girl."O'Neill: "Everybody okay?"
Daniel: "Headache. Bad headache."Daniel: "We're just trying to understand. If we're supposed to be dead...how are you supposed to kill us again?"
Kid: "You wanna find out, four eyes? Huh?"
Daniel: "Four eyes?"Rogers: "We have kept the Jaffa encampment separate so that we may better practice our Earth behavior. Shall I have them send for them?"
Daniel: "No, I don't think that will be necessary."
Teal'c: "Send for them."
Daniel: "Yes! Send for them."O'Neill, after reviewing their plan once they return to the planet: "Is everyone clear on that? Daniel?"
Daniel: "What?"
O'Neill: "Good."Daniel, to Teal'c: "You should've waited longer. I would've gotten through to her."
O'Neill: "She was trying to kill you, Daniel."
Daniel: "No, she wasn't trying to kill me. Ammonet was trying to kill me."Daniel: "You ever really study one of these?"
Carter: "A pen?"
Daniel: "I spent half my life studying the history of the written word, including how various cultures recorded things through the ages. From hammers and chisels to quills and ink...but I never stopped once to recognize the ingenuity of this simple little piece of technology that we use. After the first team left me at Abydos, Sha're saw me writing in my journal and thought the ballpoint I was using was magic. A little device like this pen was such a wonder to her." His voice cracks as he adds, "The simplest things were a wonder to her."
Carter: "Daniel, it's healthy to hold onto those memories."
Daniel: "I couldn't save her. All these wonders we have at our disposal and I couldn't save her."Hammond: "Dr. Jackson. It's good to see you back on your feet."
Daniel: "Yes, uh, Dr. Fraiser just released me."
Hammond: "Is there something I can help you with, Dr. Jackson?"
Daniel: "Yes, Sir. I've come to tender my resignation."
Hammond: "I won't accept it."
Daniel: "I'm not military, Sir, and it's a free country last I checked."
Hammond: "You're obviously in an emotional state right now, making rash decisions. Why don't you take some time off, then see how you feel?"
Daniel: "That's not necessary, Sir. I joined this program so I could find my wife. Now I've found her. End of story."O'Neill: "How long you going to be gone?"
Daniel: "Didn't General Hammond tell you?"
O'Neill: "What, that you quit? Yeah, he told me that. But, uh, come on. We both know you can't stay away."
Daniel: "Then I guess we're both wrong 'cause I'm gone."
O'Neill: "Give it a week. You'll miss me."
Daniel: "Yes, I'll miss all the salty, bad-tempered insults, all the illogical arguments...."
O'Neill: "Okay, you'll miss Carter and Teal'c."
Daniel: "I'll miss Carter."
O'Neill: "And you'll miss the excitement, all the new cultures you get to explore, all the history, that's the kind of stuff you can't walk away from."
Daniel: "Jack, up until now every time I set foot through that gate I was thinking about my wife. Maybe I'll see her this time, maybe this is the one.... Now every time I go through it'll just be some...place...where that hope used to be. That's why I can't do it anymore. I hope you understand that."
O'Neill: "'The SGC may be the single most important human endeavor for the future of mankind.' Not bad, huh? You said that."
Daniel: "The SGC will go on without me."Daniel: "Please get out of my way, Teal'c."
Teal'c: "I will, but you must hear me first."
Daniel: "I have a pretty good idea what you want to say."
Teal'c: "Is there not some form of human ritual in which I may ask your forgiveness?"
Daniel: "No."Carter: "So."
Daniel: "So..."
O'Neill: "So! Now what?"
Daniel: "Now I get on with my life."
Carter: "What're you going to do?"
Daniel: "Well, I'm going somewhere far away, the most remote dig I can find."
Carter: "We going to see you again?"
Daniel: "At the funeral. Now, if you'll excuse me, I seem to have a lot to do."
Carter: "Okay." She gives him a hug.
O'Neill, shaking Daniel's hand: "Well, it's been a pleasure doing business with you." He gives in and gives Daniel a hug. "Dr. Jackson."Daniel, shaking Robert's hand: "How're they treating you, Robert?"
Robert: "Oh, um...I think they'd rather have you. Especially Colonel O'Neill."
Daniel: "Well, don't let Jack get to you. He's just intimidated by you because you're, uh, you're way smarter than he is."O'Neill: "General! The guy has got two left feet. He slows down the unit."
Daniel: "Déjà vu."
O'Neill: "Déjà vu?"
Daniel: "Déjà vu. You know, Rothman was a two-time decathlon champion in college."Daniel: "I've given it some thought and I've decided I'd like to come back."
O'Neill: "May I ask what changed your mind? You were fairly adamant."
Daniel: "I don't know. Let's just say there's something through the Stargate I think I still have to be the one to find."O'Neill: "Daniel, the UAV didn't show any big signs of civilization, human, Goa'uld, or otherwise, so...."
Daniel: "So you want me to look for little signs of civilization. Itsy bitsy artifacts...."Sha're: "Promise me you will save the child!"
Daniel: "I promise."Sha're, right before she dies: "I love you, Daniel."
Teal'c: "I am sorry, Daniel Jackson."
Daniel: "You did the right thing, Teal'c."
Carter, seeing Sha're dead: "Oh, god."
O'Neill: "Teal'c?"
Teal'c: "Daniel Jackson will be fine."
Daniel, smiling and touching Sha're's face: "I love you too."Daniel: "So, I'm guessing you were or are a doctor?"
Kyra: "It seems to me that before the Vorlex I helped others. That is all that I sense. Are you?"
Daniel: "A doctor? No. Ah, well, yes. I'm a doctor of archaeology. I study the past."
Kyra, a little too friendly: "Then you are a most welcome visitor here, Daniel."Daniel: "Well, I suppose it's possible that your people foresaw a disaster coming and sent the most helpless to safety."
Kyra: "But whatever happened happened quickly with no warning."
Daniel: "How do you know that...?" He catches her drift and starts smiling...flirting...whatever. "Because if you saw disaster coming, you would've left yourselves a note." His smile broadens...this guy is clearly enjoying being single again. "Sort of a 'To Whom It May Concern' sort of thing."Kyra: "Tell me of Linea."
Daniel: "We met her on another planet on which we were imprisoned unjustly and Linea helped us escape."
Kyra: "Well surely there is nothing wrong with that if you were imprisoned unjustly."
Daniel: "Well, she was imprisoned justly. It was only after we escaped that we learned that this nice older lady we thought Linea was was actually a very...very bad older lady that had committed crimes."Daniel, leading Kyra into the guestroom: "So, this is it. Ah, it's not much of a view, but it's got all the comforts of...."
Kyra: "You've been very kind. Thank you."
Daniel, becoming a bit uncomfortable with her advances: "So there are your clothes in the dresser...."
Kyra: "Is my clothing not acceptable?"
Daniel, now very uncomfortable: "No! No, no, no, no, no, it's...no, it's fine. It's...are you hungry? I can...I can have them send something down. You're hungry, I'm hungry, I'm going to have them send something down." She's backed him up against a wall." Are you...do you want something?"
Kyra: "Yes."
Daniel: "Right."
Kyra: "Since the Vorlex, closed contact has become almost taboo. We were afraid if we ever to regain our memories...."
Daniel: "...you would find yourself waking up beside the wrong person."
Kyra: "But you are not from Vias."
Daniel, completely uncomfortable: "No. I'm not from there, Vias, um, no. Kyra...."
Kyra: "I understand." She turns away, but Daniel grabs her shoulder.
Daniel: "No, you don't. I'm mean, I'm, um, okay, I'm finding myself very, very....very....but, um, the fact is I've only just recently lost my wife. And, uh, well, that's not actually totally true, I actually lost her a long time ago, but the fact is right now I don't think I'd trust myself to uh...." She kisses him.
Kyra: "I'm sorry, I interrupted you."
Daniel: "No, you didn't. I, uh, I wasn't going to say anything...."Daniel: "Let me ask you a question. Who would you trust with your life more than anyone else in the world? Don't worry, I won't be offended if you don't pick me. Could it be Teal'c?"
O'Neill: "Sure."
Daniel: "Ah, Teal'c, refresh my memory. What was your previous occupation?"
Teal'c: "I was First Prime of Apophis."
Daniel: "Right. Did a few nasty things back then?"
O'Neill: "We see the subtle point you're trying to make."
Daniel: "No, you don't. She is not the same person. She is not who she used to be. Let's not condemn her for who she used to be in the past."Kyra, to Daniel: "I sense we knew each other well before my memory was lost. Did we?"
Daniel: "No. No, we never really did. Goodbye, Kyra."O'Neill: "How did Jolinar get out?"
Martouf: "She never said."
Daniel: "And no one ever asked her how she escaped from an inescapable prison?"O'Neill: "Well, if we're going in on this one, Sir, we're going to need a couple more units."
Hammond: "He's really that much worse than the others?"
Daniel: "Well, of all the gods he picked to impersonate, he chose the Devil."Daniel: "That's, ah, that's still a long way down."
Martouf: "The pods are launched at a great velocity."
Daniel: "And that's supposed to make me feel better...?"Daniel: "Your mate Ammonet is dead. Sorry to ruin your day. No, actually, I'm...I'm wrong about that. I'm not sorry."
Daniel: "Yeah, well, all this weapons chatter gets my blood pumping but can we get back to the Triad?"
O'Neill: "Well, this just became a piece of cake, a walk in the park, a day at the beach."
Daniel: "An accident waiting for a place to happen."
O'Neill: "Mr. Negative. Yes."Daniel: "You took human knowledge when you took humans as hosts, just as you took knowledge from other species. The Stargate isn't your technology, you just took that. As far as we know, nothing you have came from you. So the evidence isn't that you're more intelligent, just...more parasitic."
Daniel: "We would put forward that life as a slave is not life at all."
Daniel, too cute with his mouth full of pumpkin pie: "This is the best pie I've ever had."
Urgo: "Years from now, when you're thinking about me, you're going to say, 'Oooh, how did I ever get along without that wonderful, constant companion?' Woof."
O'Neill: "Years from now?!"
Daniel: "Woof?"Togar: "I will return you to your planet now."
Daniel: "Wait, how do we know that Urgo's really alive?"
Urgo: "How do you know I'm here? Tell 'em, tell 'em!"
Togar: "I will, as soon as you're quiet."
Daniel and O'Neill: "He's alive."Daniel: "Hi."
O'Neill: "What do you want?"
Daniel: "I'm not, ah, I'm not sure, to tell you the truth. I'm here to talk, I guess."
O'Neill: "So talk." He takes a sip from his beer.
Daniel: "You got another one of those?"
O'Neill: "Yeah."
Daniel: "Feel like sharing?"
O'Neill: "Beer? Sure." Daniel comes in and O'Neill goes to get another beer.
Daniel: "So...how you feeling about all this?"
O'Neill: "Yes to the beer. No to the feelings."
Daniel: "That's, ah, that's too bad because I don't really like beer."Daniel: "There's a lot we could learn from people like the Tollan that has nothing to do with technology and weapons."
O'Neill: "Stuff that interests people like you, Daniel, not people like me. I want to see tangible gains from our efforts and if people like the Tollan don't want to share, we should just take."
Daniel: "You really believe that."
O'Neill: "Being sweet and nice is going to stop three or four Goa'uld mother ships if they decide to come back again. I'd rather be a thief and alive than honest and dead. I know it's a cliché, but there it is."
Daniel: "If you really believe that, I guess, ah, I guess I never really knew you at all."
O'Neill: "Come on. You're a bright guy. You had to sense some of this." Daniel doesn't answer. "Then no, I guess you couldn't relate to me any more than I could to you."
Daniel: "So this whole, ah, this whole friendship thing we've been working on the last few years...?"
O'Neill: "Apparently not much of a foundation there, huh?" Daniel watches him a moment, then leaves.Hammond: "Since SG-1 is considered the flagship unit, it falls on me to assure that you have the strongest possible leadership. Therefore, I am reassigning the most senior officer we have in the field as your new commanding officer. Colonel Makepeace will be joining SG-1 immediately. I hope you'll make him feel welcome."
Daniel: "Um, Sir, ah, I don't want to seem out of line here but, ah, since I'm a civilian here I'm probably the only one who can say this."
Hammond: "Spit it out, Doctor."
Daniel: "Well, no offense, but, ah, doesn't Major Carter deserve to take charge of SG-1?"
Hammond: "Major Carter has an exemplary record on the team as recognized by her recent promotion to Major. But Major is a far cry from Colonel."
Carter: "I understand, General."
Daniel: "I'm sorry, I don't. Ah, what difference does it make what title she has? The point is...."
Carter: "It's all right, Daniel, really."Makepeace: "I'm proud to join you folks. I hope you can learn to trust my command as much as you did Colonel O'Neill's."
Carter: "I'm sure we will, Sir."
Daniel: "I never really trusted Jack's command but...I'm open."Daniel: "So...just to clarify, this whole past week, beginning with the appeal we make on Tollana in which I...I did a lot of hard work, by the way, I take it that was all a scam?"
Carter: "It's good to have you back, Sir."
Teal'c: "Indeed."
O'Neill: "Thank you." He motions to Daniel that they need to talk. "Um, Daniel...?"
Daniel: "Mmm."
O'Neill: "That stuff I was talkin' about at my house? Um, the place was bugged, I had to keep up the act."
Daniel: "I...I...I understand."
O'Neill: "Obviously the whole friendship thing, the foundation, it's all solid...."
Daniel: "Obviously. You don't...you don't...."
O'Neill: "I feel kind of.... I do appreciate that you were the one to come and see if I was okay. That...that means something."
Daniel: "Ah...actually, no, it doesn't."
O'Neill: "No?"
Daniel: "Um...we, ah, we drew straws. I lost."O'Neill, kicking the wall of his cage and receiving a nasty shock: "Ow! Hey! That hurts."
Daniel: "Well, this day just keeps getting better and better."Reigar: "You have one last chance."
Daniel: "I don't know how that man was killed. We are not Optracan spies." Reigar shoots Carter with the zat gun.
Reigar: "Is there another one of your people out there?"
Daniel: "I don't know how that man was killed. We are not Optracan...." Reigar shoots O'Neill with the zat; he falls back against the side of the cage, where the cage continues to electrocute him. "No there is not another one of my team out there! Turn it off!"
Reigar: "What's he look like?"
Daniel: "Turn it off! You'll kill him!"
Reigar: "No, you will kill him."Monk: "I only know a snowflake cannot exist is a storm of fire."
O'Neill: "What?!"
Daniel: "Jack..."
O'Neill: "No, you know me, I'm a huge fan of subtlety, but that's downright cryptic."
Daniel, to the monk: "Sorry, don't, ah, don't worry about him."Monk: "Why do you seek this child of flesh and bones?"
Daniel: "He is the son of my wife."
Monk: "But not your son."
Daniel: "No. But my wife is dead now and I promised her I would make sure the boy is safe."
Monk: "And you are sure he will be safe with you."
Daniel: "Yes. Absolutely."
Monk: "Because it is so clear, it takes a longer time to realize it. If you immediately know the candle has fire, then the meal was cooked a long time ago."
Daniel: "Right. Well, I, ah, I have no idea what you're talking about."Daniel: "The Goa'uld are responsible for the death of my wife, among millions and millions of other people. How can I not hate them?"
Monk: "Your hate will lead to the child's death."
Daniel: "How do you know that?"
Monk: "You must trust. You must believe."
Daniel: "Well, maybe what I don't believe is that I can light a candle with my mind. You see, I find it a lot easier to use a lighter or a match. It's much more practical...." The monk lights the candle with his mind. "Wow."
Monk: "Now you blow it out." Daniel bends over and blows it out. "With your mind."
Daniel: "Sorry. Could you...could you light that again?" The monk does. "This isn't, like, a trick candle or anything, is it?"
Monk: "Put your hand in the fire."
Daniel: "What?"
Monk: "Place your hand in the flame."
Daniel, after doing what the monk asked him to do and his hand is burned: "Ow! Why did you tell me to do that?"
Monk: "Why did you do it?"
Daniel: "Because you told me to."
Monk: "Because you trusted."
Daniel: "Yes."
Monk: "Within you is the capacity for trust. Trust Oma Desala. Do not believe you can light the candle, believe she can light the candle."O'Neill: "Is the boy here or not?"
Daniel: "I think so...."
O'Neill: "Because every minute we stay here, we're risking our necks."
Daniel: "I know that...."
O'Neill: "So please understand I'm on the verge of ordering a complete search of this place, with or without his cooperation."
Daniel: "You can't do that...."
O'Neill: "You're confused, Daniel, I can. So far I haven't."
Daniel: "I am gaining his trust...."
O'Neill: "And how long is something like that going to take?"
Daniel: "Jack, you don't understand...."
O'Neill: "I think I do." Suddenly, his gun lifts out of his hands by an invisible force. "Alright, that's dangerous, put it down." It's lowered to the ground. "Okay, that was a little more impressive." He turns to the monk. "How did you do that?"
Daniel: "Actually, I did that."
O'Neill: "What?"
Daniel: "That's what I've been trying to tell you. This is...it's incredible."Daniel, to the alien woman: "Thank you. He'll be safe with me." He turns to leave, then stops. "I didn't do any of it, did I? It was you. I was wrong, I don't...I don't have any powers at all. You do. You were showing them to me. That's how you communicate with us. You were trying to tell me the boy is better off here with you and I...I wasn't listening. I made a promise." He places the boy back on the bed. "I promised he would be safe."
Daniel: "Drop your weapons!"
O'Neill: "You heard him!"
Daniel: "I was talking to you, Jack."
O'Neill: "Wh...what?"
Daniel: "Do it now, all of you."
O'Neill: "Daniel...."
Daniel: "Jack, I was wrong, I was very wrong. One of those aliens I thought was long gone is still here."
Carter: "Sir, we put our guns down and we're dead."
Jaffa Commander: "You are outnumbered and surrounded. You will die if you do not."
Daniel: "Jack, if you're ever going to trust me on anything, now is the time. The alien's the one with all the powers and she's not someone you want to fool with if you catch my drift."Daniel, to all the Jaffa: "Bye."
O'Neill: "You alright?"
Daniel: "Yeah."
O'Neill: "Let's go home." They start to leave. "Daniel?"
Daniel: "Yeah?"
O'Neill: "Shoes."Daniel: "Wait a minute, that's...that's not enough time. I mean, there has to be some sort of radiation suit or...."
O'Neill: "Hey, if you'd been listening you'd know that Nintendos pass through everything."
Daniel: "I heard."Teal'c: "We believe it to be a teleportation device."
Rothman: "Are you serious?"
Daniel: "That's good, Robert, be skeptical."
Hammond: "We were hoping your archaeological expertise would help provide insight into where he may have been sent."
Rothman: "It's a skull!"
Daniel: "Not that skeptical."Daniel, to Teal'c who's in the middle of performing Kel-no-reem: "Teal'c, in case I don't ever get the chance to say this, if you hadn't come back for me, I might've been stuck in that place forever. thank you." Teal'c suddenly opens his eyes and looks around.
Teal'c: "Is there someone present?"
Daniel: "Yes! Yes, it's...it's me, it's Daniel. I'm right here. I'm right here. Just...don't walk through me...." Teal'c walks through him. "It's very disconcerting." He follows Teal'c into the hallway. "You sensed I was in the room, you just can't see or hear me...which is a little frustrating as you may imagine."Carter, to Rothman who's staring at the skull: "Stop! That is exactly what Daniel was doing when he was absorbed by the energy field."
Daniel: "That's what I've been trying to tell him."Carter: "I can't believe I'm going to suggest this, but...what about Daniel's grandfather?"
Daniel and O'Neill: "Nick?"
Carter: "Well, he claimed that the skull teleported him somewhere. He may be the only person who actually knows where Daniel is."
Fraiser: "I'm...not so sure, Major. I've already taken the liberty of looking him up."
Daniel, cringing: "Oh, you didn't."
Fraiser: "His current address is a psychiatric institution in Oregon."
O'Neill: "Psychiatric?"
Fraiser: "Apparently, his failure to prove the crystal skull was more than just a curiosity caused a severe mental breakdown from which he's never been able to fully recover. Nick checked himself in."
Carter: "Why wouldn't Daniel have told us that?"
Daniel: "Oh, yes, by the way, he's insane."O'Neill: "Ah, giants?"
Daniel: "Yes, that's weird, I admit."Daniel: "What? That's it? Whatever happened to working through the night?! I do it for you."
Nick: "I am sorry."
Daniel: "For what?"
Nick: "For not adopting you when your parents died."
Daniel: "You were traveling all over the world."
Nick: "It wasn't your fault."
Daniel: "I was eight years old, how could it be my fault?"
Nick: "I am sorry for allowing my obsession to drive me to madness." He turns and looks directly at Daniel. "Will you forgive me?"
Daniel: "You can see me?"
Nick: "Yes, Daniel, I can see you."
Daniel: "Why didn't you say something?!"
Nick: "You're not real so it doesn't mean anything."
Daniel: "No no no no no, Nick, Nick, I'm real. I'm real. You're not hallucinating."
Nick: "Hallucinations always say that."
Daniel: "Not this time, Nick. The skull, the skull did this to me. I'm, I'm trapped, I'm in another dimension, I'm out of phase, something. Look, all I know is I need your help. If you don't help me, I don't know how I'm going to get home."O'Neill: "Daniel said you should come along to make it work?"
Daniel: "Wait, I never said that. You're taking advantage of me."
Nick: "Yes."Daniel: "There are others among our people who would gladly return...."
Nick: "No, Daniel, let me."
Daniel: "Nick...."
Nick: "This was my life's work. I've been hoping for another chance at this for 29 years. Please."
Daniel: "You just came back into my life."
Nick: "I'll be back again. Please."
Quetzalcoatl: "Look again into the eyes of the skull."
O'Neill: "Well, Nick, take notes."
Nick: "I will."
Daniel: "You have to tell me everything."
Nick: "I promise. Daniel, I am proud of you."
Daniel: "Goodbye...Grandpa."O'Neill: "Hey."
Daniel: "Hey."
O'Neill: "How're you doin'?"
Daniel: "Good. Did you get your hair cut?"
O'Neill: "Yeah. Why?"
Daniel: "No reason."
O'Neill: "Can I see your scar?"
Daniel: "No."
O'Neill: "Ah, Fraiser says it'll be about a week before you...get out of here."
Daniel: "You know, it's funny. I mean, after everything we've been through these past few years and of all things it's my appendix that lays me out. It's not going to be a week. I mean, I practically...I feel fine now."
O'Neill: "Wanna go fishing?"
Daniel: "Actually, I wouldn't, ah..." He tries to sit up but grimaces in pain. "Well, maybe, no, you know, maybe I'll just...I will stay here for two or three...three days."Daniel: "Sir, I know there's no reason for me to be here, but I just...I feel like I should be here. That's not totally true, I feel like actually I should be up there with them."
