Synopsis: In a great special effects moment, we open in outer space around a planet, watching two mother ships fire at a death glider.  The planet shoots at the mother ships and they explode; several of the death gliders are also destroyed.  The death glider that was under fire by the mother ships has been damaged and falls to the planet, where four humans rush over to it and see who's inside.  And guess who it is? Skaara, who we haven't seen since "The Serpent's Lair."  He calls out to the humans for help and we cut to the credits.

Back on Earth, someone has just dialed in to the Stargate, but no iris code has been detected yet.  The iris begins to waver and suddenly a cat steps through it, surprisingly not becoming a pancake.  Carter runs out to pick up the cat and guess who it is?  Schroedinger, the intergalactic feline traveler from "Enigma." A second later a man follows--Schroedinger's owner, Narim (also from "Enigma").  He greets Carter and tells the others that he brings a message for them requesting that they join the Tollans for a ceremony known as Triad.

Off they go to the debriefing room, where Narim explains that a Triad is a ceremony to determine justice.  Daniel is quick to clarify that it's like an Earth trial.  Narim then tells them that Skaara and Klorel are to be examined during the Triad.  Since SG-1 is friends with Skaara, he requested that they help him out with the Triad.

They go through the Stargate to the Tollan world of Tollana (<sarcasm> what an original name...I would never have thought of that </sarcasm>).  Turns out after the events of "Enigma," the Tollans sent to live on the Nox planet developed a way to join the other refugees on their planet.  They have since created their own Stargate on their planet...although, as O'Neill points out, it's not as big as Earth's. <g>  Narim leads them to the Triad room, and en route, a blue beam zaps out of the wall and neutralizes all their weapons.  Not surprisingly, O'Neill is not pleased about this but Narim assures them that no harm will come to them.

Once they arrive at the Triad room, they're greeted by High Chancellor Trevel, who explains what all is involved with the Triad.  In this case there are two seekers (like defendants) who chose an archon (like an attorney) to represent each side.  In addition, the Chancellor will preside over the ceremony and there will be a third, neutral archon.  After all the arguments are presented, the three archons will vote to decide which of the seekers has the better argument.

Narim takes SG-1 to see Skaara so he can decide who will serve as his archon.  It turns out that the Tollans have developed a device that can suppress the Goa'uld and allow the host to speak freely.  When the light on the device is blue, it means that Skaara is speaking; when red, it means Klorel is speaking.  Skaara is rather happy to see them all again and asks Narim if it's possible for him to choose both O'Neill (strength) and Daniel (wisdom) as his archons.  Narim says yes, but they will only have one vote between the two of them.

Well, that's all great, fine, and wonderful, but Daniel wants to know exactly what the Triad is about.  Apparently, a few days ago Skaara's death glider crashed trying to flee from Heru-Ur (and the Tollans blew up two of Heru-Ur's mother ships...alas, Heru-Ur was not in either one at the time) and he asked the Tollans to remove the Goa'uld symbiote from within him.  Klorel, however, is rather, ahem, attached to Skaara and does not want to go.  That's what the Triad is for--to see who has the right to inhabit Skaara's body.

On the other hand, speaking for Klorel will be a Goa'uld by the name of Lord Zipacna, one of Apophis's most loyal under lords who has an apparent obsession with eye makeup, earrings, ugly hats, and skirts. <g>  While Zipacna and Klorel go off to talk, SG-1 learns that the third, neutral archon is yet another familiar face--Lya, our friendly Nox representative.  O'Neill is suddenly very confident that they'll be successful because the Nox like them and are very insightful, but Daniel and the others are a bit more uncertain.  When the Triad is ready to begin, Daniel and O'Neill go off to the Triad room while Carter and Teal'c go off to keep an eye on Zipacna's guards and make sure they're not up to anything.

Thus begins the Triad.  Zipacna starts by saying that Skaara and the other Abydonians lived under Goa'uld law and, therefore, were the property of the Goa'uld.  Klorel was only taking what was his by using Skaara as his host.  Daniel counters by saying the Abydonians never saw themselves as slaves, although they were enslaved by the Goa'ulds through superstition and fear.

There is a brief scene of Carter and Teal'c apparently appreciating Tollan artwork;  however, they are actually following Zipacna's serpent guards to see what they're up to.

Back to the Triad.  Zipacna questions Skaara about Abydonians' use of animals for beasts of burden, food, and clothing, then says that the Goa'uld do nothing different.  They take what they need--human hosts--just as the Abydonians take what they need from their animals.  O'Neill counters that humans are different from animals in that they're self-aware, and Daniel expands on that by saying that humans are more intelligent than animals.  Ah, but is that just a matter of perspective? Zipacna replies.  The Goa'uld feel they are above humans (just as humans feel they are above animals) since the Goa'uld are so very much more advanced than humans are.  This argument changes to one of Daniel and O'Neill tactfully accusing the Goa'uld of stealing all their knowledge and being parasites, just as Klorel stole Skaara's body, and life.  Skaara would rather die than live another day as a Goa'uld host; Zipacna replies that Skaara sees nothing that the Goa'uld makes him do since nothing of the host survives.

We cut briefly back to Carter and Teal'c, who are still watching Zipacna's guards.  The guards tamper with something on the Tollans' defense system, but neither Carter nor Teal'c know exactly what they're doing.  They decide to tell the others.

Meanwhile, Daniel asks Zipacna about his own host, then proves Zipacna's theory that nothing of the host survives wrong by asking how Skaara is able to speak so freely. According to the Goa'uld, Skaara is nothing more than a remnant of his original self, to which Lya replies that cannot be true since he speaks too well to be only a remnant personality.

Finally, a break in the Triad.  Carter tells the others what she and Teal'c found, saying that she thinks Zipacna's using the Triad to buy enough time to disable the Tollan defense system and attack the planet, thereby wiping out the Tollans.

Carter asks Narim to meet with her and when he arrives, he says he's happy they finally can have some time together, alone.  She tells him that she can't pursue a relationship with him--or with anyone else, for that matter--at this time because of Jolinar's influence inside her.  In other words, she needs to be sure whose emotions she's feeling, hers or Jolinar's.  She then goes on to explain her suspicions about Zipacna's guards and he gets very offended that she and Teal'c were following them.  Besides, the Tollans' technology is too advanced for the Goa'uld to figure out.  Carter says she only followed them out of concern for the Tollans and that the Goa'uld were doing something to their security system.

SG-1 explains their concerns to Chancellor Trevel, who becomes just as offended as Narim had.  Zipacna denies doing anything wrong and the Tollans have been unable to find proof of tampering with their defense cannons.  Carter proposes that the Goa'uld were "painting" the Tollans' cannons, in other words marking them as targets, even if the mark isn't visible.  The Chancellor tells them never to bring the subject up again or else she'd have to replace Daniel and O'Neill as Skaara's archons, then leaves.

Teal'c is certain that the Goa'uld are going to try something and asks O'Neill to let him continue watching Zipacna's guards.  O'Neill, however, doesn't want anything threatening the outcome of the Triad and wants Teal'c to drop the issue for now.  The Tollans seem to be able to defend themselves just fine, thank you.  Teal'c emphasizes that the Tollans are not used to being at war and don't think strategically.  Carter adds that their naïveté could be their downfall, but O'Neill repeats that they have their orders to remain on stand down.  He and Daniel then return to the Triad.

Teal'c, however, knows how the Goa'uld operate and won't just let the issue be.  He approaches Lya and tells her he needs her help.  She's hesitant to talk to him for fear he'll try to influence her decision in Triad, but he assures her he wouldn't do that, nor would he try to bias her against the Goa'uld.  He knows Lya is a pacifist, but he wants her assistance in defending the planet--something that will not threaten her peaceful position.  She agrees to hear him out.

Back to the Triad where Zipacna presents a challenge.  He says that the Tollans do not allow for the death penalty, yet by removing Klorel from Skaara, that's exactly what they'd be doing to Klorel, sentencing him to death.  The Goa'uld, after all, need a host to survive.  If, however, Klorel remains inside Skaara, both will live.  Daniel counters that Skaara would only be living as a slave with no free will of his own.  By removing Klorel and keeping him alive, though, maybe he could find a human who would willingly agree to be his host.

Narim, Carter, and Teal'c suddenly burst into the Triad room and announce that a Goa'uld mother ship has been spotted approaching Tollana.  The Chancellor demands an explanation from Zipacna, and he replies that the mother ship is just there to pick him and Klorel up after the Triad.  Yeah, right, and my real name is Gribaziggy.  Since neither side has any further arguments, they conclude the trial and bring Skaara/Klorel in to hear the decision.  Lya declares that, after hearing both sides and considering their arguments, both Klorel and Skaara have the right to live, but Skaara should not forced to live the rest of his life as a slave, which is not really life at all.  Therefore, Klorel is to be removed from Skaara, then sent back to a Goa'uld world of his choice to find another host.

Needless to say, O'Neill, Daniel, and Skaara are rather happy about this. However, upon hearing the decision, Zipacna grabs a metallic ball from under his table and starts to contact the Goa'uld.  Teal'c knocks it away and knocks out Zipacna, but the damage has already been done.  The Goa'uld have disabled the Tollans' defense cannons and are attacking.

O'Neill sends Skaara off somewhere safe, then they find Teal'c and Lya, who are waiting for them.  Lya magically zaps them outside the city to a place where she reveals a single Tollan cannon that she "protected" from the Goa'uld by making it invisible.  Teal'c fires it, blowing up two approaching death gliders and the mother ship that's attacking Tollana.

The High Chancellor thanks SG-1 (and especially Teal'c) for saving their planet.  Yes, they are indebted to SG-1, but even knowing that they won't give away any of their technology...such as the blueprints for their defensive ion cannons.  They are they reunited with Skaara, now free from his Goa'uld symbiote thanks to the Tok'ra, who thanks them all for their help.  Maybe now he can live happily ever after. <g>

Quotes:
Daniel:
"Is it my eyes or does the gate look kind of..." Makes a darling hand motion indicating shaky.
Carter: "It's losing integrity!"  Suddenly an orange cat steps through the iris and she rushes into the gate room to pick it up. "It's Schroedinger, the cat I gave to the Tollan Narim."
O'Neill: "Cat."
Teal'c: "The Tollan possess the technology to walk through solid matter."
O'Neill: "A technology which, by the way, if you all recall, they refused to share with us."

Hammond: "What can we do for you, Narim?"
Narim: "I am here to deliver a message from our highest governing body.  Colonel O'Neill, the Tollan Curia request the presence of you and your team for Triad." He bows slightly and hands O'Neill a cool device.
O'Neill: "I feel like I'm being served."

O'Neill: "So what exactly is this Triad?"
Narim: "It is an ancient ceremony of justice, quite honorable."
Daniel: "So it's kind of like a tria-l."
Narim: "I'm...not familiar with tria-l."
Daniel: "Trial.  It's sort of like a tribunal, a place where matters of justice and law are decided."
Narim: "Then yes, a Triad is similar to your trial."
O'Neill: "So who's on trial?"
Daniel, correcting him: "...ad."
O'Neill: "Triad...l."
Narim: "The decision the Triad must reach is of great concern to a friend.  He is an Abydonian by the name of Skaara."
Daniel and O'Neill: "What?!"
Narim: "It is he who requested your presence."
Daniel: "He's alive?  He's okay?  He's....?"
Narim: "He is well.  But he does need your help for Triad."
O'Neill: "Where's this taking place?"
Narim: "Our destination is the new homeworld, Tollana."
Carter: "But we sent you to the Nox planet.  There wasn't a gate on Tollana."
Narim: "The Nox and the Tollan were able to devise a way to get us there."
O'Neill: "Of course you were."
Daniel: "Way smarter than we are."

O'Neill, seeing the Tollan world: "Very nice."
Carter: "So you built that...Stargate."
Daniel: "Way smarter than we are."
O'Neill: "Ours is bigger."

Daniel, as a blue light hits SG-1: "What just happened?"
Narim: "Your weapons have been disabled."
O'Neill: "What?!"
Narim: "Do not worry.  You may continue to carry them if you wish."
O'Neill: "You don't think you should've told us about this before we came?"
Narim: "I didn't find it relevant."
O'Neill: "We don't travel to other planets without weapons with which to defend ourselves."
Narim: "May I ask what you intend to defend yourselves against?  The Tollans have never threatened you in any way."
Teal'c: "That is correct, O'Neill.  I do not feel the need to carry a weapon in this place."
Carter: "And, Sir, judging by what I've seen in the last five minutes, our weapons wouldn't be much of a match for their technology anyway."
Narim: "No harm will come to you.  The Tollan will guarantee it."
O'Neill: "Is that a money back if you're not completely alive guarantee?"

Chancellor: "We are honored that you have agreed to participate in Triad.  Your seeker will decide which one of you will be archon."
O'Neill: "Seeker?  Archon?  Daniel?"
Daniel: "Ah, with respect, High Chancellor, Narim didn't really explain the Triad very well.  Could you please define those term for us?"
Chancellor: "In Triad there are two arguing parties called seekers.  Triadic law requires one archon who is sympathetic to each cause and one neutral archon.  The archons argue the dispute until a decision is reached."
Daniel, explaining to O'Neill: "So a seeker is like a defendant and the archons his attorney."
O'Neill, annoyed by Daniel's explanation: "I got it.  So Skaara is our...?"
Daniel: "Seeker."
O'Neill: "Seeker?"
Chancellor: "Narim will take you to him now."
Narim: "This way."

Carter: "Skaara?"
Klorel: "You?!  You will pay for what you did to my father."
O'Neill: "Good to see you too."  The device on Skaara's chest turns from red to blue.
Skaara: "I am very happy to see you, all of you."
O'Neill: "What's the deal?  What just happened?"
Narim: "The Tollan designed the device worn about his chest.  It suppresses the Goa'uld's ability to silence its host.  The Goa'uld and host are free to speak at will.  The device cannot be removed as long as Klorel and Skaara are our guests.  The indicator on the front prevents one from pretending to be the other.  Red indicates it is Klorel who speaks; blue, Skaara."
O'Neill: "Nice device.  We'll take a dozen."
Narim: "As you may recall from our last encounter, it is forbidden for the Tollan to give our technology to any culture less advanced than our own."
O'Neill: "Still got that arrogance bug, I see."
Skaara: "It is I, O'Neill.  Are you not happy to see me?"
O'Neill: "Yeah, it's good to see you."
Skaara: "I knew you would come.  Soon, with your help, I will be free of this demon.  Every day I fight him.  I listen.  I learn."
Narim: "It is time for Skaara to choose his archon."
Skaara: "O'Neill is strong.  Daniel is wise.  May I not choose both?"
Narim: "You may.  They may both argue.  However, they will only have but one vote."
Daniel: "Okay, what's this Triad about?  What's to be decided?"
Narim: "Two days ago a small Goa'uld vessel crashed in a remote area.  The occupant was badly injured.  It was Skaara."
Skaara: "We were fleeing a battle group dispatched by Heru-Ur.  My demons knew that the Tollan would stop them."
Narim: "Which we did.  We warned them but they came anyway. Our defense grid was forced to destroy them."
Carter: "So...Heru-Ur is dead?"
Skaara: "No.  But two of his mother ships are destroyed."
O'Neill: "Wait a minute, you blew away two Goa'uld mother ships?"
Narim: "We are not a warring people.  But our defensive technology is far advanced than that of the Goa'uld."
Daniel: "Yeah, well, all this weapons chatter gets my blood pumping but can we get back to the Triad?"
Narim: "Yes, of course.  When our centuries reached the crashed vessel, Skaara asked us to free him of his Goa'uld but the Goa'uld refuses.  Therefore under Tollan law we have no choice but to hear both arguments before acting."
O'Neill: "And Klorel's....?" Motions to Daniel to supply the proper term.
Daniel: "Archon."
O'Neill: "...archon is...who?"

O'Neill: "So, when you were trying to get us to come here and then disarmed us, you didn't feel it appropriate to mention that a freakin' Goa'uld was going to be here, not to mention his associates?!"
Chancellor: "They are as unarmed as you."
O'Neill: "You sure about that?"
Narim: "Our technology detects and disables any form of weaponry."
O'Neill: "Uh-huh."
Daniel, once again changing the subject: "You said there was a third, neutral archon.  That's a Tollan?"
Chancellor: "No.  We have asked our friends to send someone capable of remaining neutral.  I believe you have met."  A Nox woman with weird green hair enters.
Daniel: "Lya."
Lya: "It is good to see you once again, friends."

O'Neill: "Well, this just became a piece of cake, a walk in the park, a day at the beach."
Daniel: "An accident waiting for a place to happen."
O'Neill: "Mr. Negative.  Yes."
Carter: "Sir, what makes you so confident?"
O'Neill: "Because Lya is a fair and insightful person who will vote our way. Besides, she likes us."
Daniel: "Lya likes everyone.  That's the Nox way."
Teal'c: "The Nox are not in conflict with the Goa'uld.  You may recall they saved Apophis when you attempted to eliminate him."
O'Neill: "So what do we have on this fine Goa'uld fellow?"
Teal'c: "Zipacna was one of Apophis's most loyal under lords."
O'Neill: "Well, I don't believe for a second he's come to talk Klorel out of here." They hear some weird electronic chimes and Narim enters.
Narim: "They are ready for you."
O'Neill: "Thank you.  Carter, you and Teal'c keep an eye on Zippy's kids."
Carter: "Yes, Sir."
O'Neill: "See what they're up to."

Chancellor: "This dispute involves two sentient beings who inhabit the same body.  Both have requested sole use of the body.  Therefore, we must establish right of priority over the body.  To whom does it belong?"
O'Neill: "Ostensibly the one to whom it was born."
Zipacna: "Your Imminence, I must request that the human contingent follow the decorum appropriate for such an auspicious body as this one."
Chancellor: "I agree.  The archons will refrain from questions or comments until their side is acknowledged.  At this time I recognize Lord Zipacna and Klorel."
Zipacna: "Until three years ago, the humans on Abydos lived under Goa'uld law, administered by Ra.  Now, by that law, they were Goa'uld property.  Lord Klorel took what was merely his."
O'Neill: "By force!"
Chancellor: "Colonel O'Neill, please."
O'Neill: "Sorry."
Chancellor: "I understand your desire to defend your position, Colonel, and I will give you that opportunity.  I would first like to hear Skaara's perspective."
Skaara: "I was born to this body, free of the demon Klorel.  He stole my body.  On Abydos I would have married, had children, grown old, and died.  The Goa'uld took more than my body.  He stole my life."
Chancellor: "Human archons?"
Daniel: "Skaara, when you were born, did your people believe they were slaves."
Skaara: "No."
Daniel: "Just so we can be clear, who was Ra?"
Skaara: "We believed him to be an evil god."
Daniel: "So he enslaved your people through superstition and fear."
Skaara: "Until you came, yes."

Zipacna: "Tell me, did the people of Abydos hunt?"
Skaara: "Yes."
Zipacna: "Did they also use animals as bests of burden, for food, for clothing?"
Skaara: "Yes."
Zipacna: "Do you also eat the flesh of humans?"
Skaara, appalled: "No!  Never!"
Zipacna: "Then we make judgment that animals are of lesser value than humans."
Skaara: "We care for our animals.  We worship them.  We thank them for the gifts they give us."
Zipacna: "But you keep them to do your will.  And you kill them to survive."
Skaara: "When we have the need."
Zipacna: "As we do with humans...as we have the need.  If a human has the right to take an animal's body and do with it as he pleases because he is a superior being, so does a Goa'uld.  And by that argument alone, a Goa'uld has priority, and the host belongs to Klorel."
Chancellor: "Do the human archons wish to respond?"
O'Neill: "Yes, Ma'am, you betcha."
Daniel: "We do, your Imminence."
O'Neill: "Can I go first?" Daniel agrees. "Your argument is flawed in so many ways.  Humans are self-aware, animals aren't."
Zipacna: "Animals are not because you deem them not to be, just as we deem humans not to be."
Daniel: "What my learned colleague means is that humans have a more advanced intelligence than lower caste animals."
O'Neill: "Exactly, just like that."
Zipacna: "Is that not a matter of perspective?  Just like a human considers itself more intelligent than a pig, might not a pig feel itself more intelligent than a...rat?"
O'Neill: "Speakin' of rats, what's your point?"
Zipacna: "My point is that the Goa'uld consider ourselves more intelligent than humans.  Our technology is more advanced than yours.  Our mere knowledge of the universe is more advanced than yours."
O'Neill: "You stole that knowledge!"
Daniel: "You took human knowledge when you took humans as hosts, just as you took knowledge from other species.  The Stargate isn't your technology, you just took that.  As far as we know, nothing you have came from you.  So the evidence isn't that you're more intelligent, just...more parasitic."
Zipacna: "Our method of gaining the knowledge is not a question.  We were able to obtain it.  You were not."
O'Neill: "Oh, please."
Chancellor: "Gentlemen, you seem to have wandered away from the central topic.  Which seeker has priority over this body?"
Daniel: "If I may, your Imminence, I don't think we've ventured away from the central topic at all.  What we're trying to point out is that the Goa'uld steal what they possess, as they have in fact stolen Skaara's body."
O'Neill: "Could I...sorry, Daniel, could I say something?  Skaara, you once told me you'd rather die than live another day as a Goa'uld host.  Why?"
Skaara: "What I suffer each day is worse than death."
O'Neill: "For example...?"
Skaara: "I remember the demon stretching out my hand to kill Daniel, the husband of my sister.  There was nothing I could do to stop it.  And I have seen many more, far worse atrocities than this."
Zipacna: "I demand that the humans stay on topic!"
O'Neill: "It is on topic!  You just want to avoid talking about all the nasty stuff he's witnessed!"
Zipacna: "The host witnesses nothing because nothing of the host survives."

Daniel: "Lord Zipacna, I'd like to ask you a question if I may."
Zipacna: "I hope I have the answer."
Daniel: "I'm sure you will.  Is your host in there somewhere?"
Zipacna: "Nothing of the host survives."
Daniel: "Really.  Then how do you explain Skaara?"
Zipacna: "What you call Skaara is nothing but a remnant.  He can speak now only because the Tollan use their technology to silence Klorel."
Daniel: "But how could he speak at all if he hadn't survived?"
Lya: "And he speaks well.  His words were not those of a remnant personality."

Narim: "Samantha, I hope you have not waited long."
Carter: "No.  Thank you for coming."
Narim: "It is my pleasure.  In fact, I am pleased that we can finally be alone together."
Carter: "Narim, I asked you to meet me because I need your help."
Narim: "Samantha....  I have missed you."
Carter: "A lot has happened to me since I last saw you."
Narim: "There is another."
Carter: "No.  Not in the way that you mean.  See, I was blended with a Tok'ra and she died to save my life but I still have her memories and her feelings."
Narim: "Then she is part of you."
Carter: "Yes.  I can't have a relationship with anyone until I'm absolutely sure whose feelings I'm feeling.  Understand?"
Narim: "You are very wise, Samantha."

Chancellor: "We asked Lord Zipacna about your accusations and he denied it.  He was quite offended."
O'Neill: "Well that's a shocker.  I hope you didn't take his word for it."

Chancellor: "Our technology is superior in every way to theirs, and to yours."
O'Neill: "My, aren't we cocky."

Lya, discussing Teal'c's request for her to help him: "Teal'c, you are a strong warrior, but I am of the Nox.  If you have learned anything of us, you have learned that we defend ourselves through illusion and mastery of the mind."
Teal'c: "Precisely."

Chancellor: "Lord Zipacna has asked us to reconvene early because he wishes to make a challenge."
Zipacna: "Tollan law does not provide for a penalty of death, is that correct?"
Chancellor: "It is."
Zipacna: "Then I wish to point out the futility of this Triad.  A Goa'uld needs a host to survive.  This is a biological fact beyond our control.  If you award priority to Skaara, then it is as a death sentence for Klorel."
O'Neill: "'Course, you flip that around you got Skaara on death row."
Zipacna: "Yes.  But as you proved earlier in Triad, the host survives."
O'Neill: "Yeah."
Zipacna: "We concede this point.  Therefore if you award priority to Klorel, both host and symbiote live."
O'Neill: "Yeah.  One lives freely, the other as a slave."
Daniel: "We would put for that life as a slave is not life at all."
O'Neill: "And if you want to save both lives, then give us Skaara, you take Klorel.  The Tok'ra could put him in another host for all I care."
Lya: "Who, Colonel?  Perhaps you would volunteer?"
O'Neill: "No."
Daniel: "Perhaps you could find someone who would choose to be a host."

Chancellor, to Zipacna after seeing the Goa'uld mother ship approaching Tollana: "Explain."
Zipacna: "My vessel comes in anticipation of our victory at Triad.  It is merely coming to take us along."
O'Neill: "Why don't you just take a Stargate like the rest of us?"
Zipacna: "Not that it is of your concern, but there is no Chaapa'ai where we are going."
O'Neill: "Then gate to where there is one and get picked up."
Zipacna: "Your Imminence, if our intentions were hostile, we would have attacked already."
Chancellor: "Even so, your ship's arrival is premature and in violation of Tollan space.  I must warn you that if your ship moves any closer, before the conclusion of Triad, our automated defense system will destroy it."
Zipacna: "The Goa'uld rest our case and we are prepared to vote.  Therefore Triad is over."
Chancellor: "Triad is over when all parties agree, Lord Zipacna.  Do the humans archons have any further arguments?"
O'Neill: "Nope.  I think the Goa'uld made our case for us quite nicely."
Daniel: "No further arguments, your Imminence.  We are prepared to vote."
Chancellor: "Nox archon?"
Lya: "Yes."
Chancellor: "Then bring in the seekers."

Chancellor: "Klorel and Skaara, you can both hear the Triad's ruling?"
Skaara: "Yes, your Imminence."
Klorel: "I can."
Chancellor: "Human archons, may we hear your vote?"
Daniel: "We find in favor of Skaara."
Chancellor: "Goa'uld archon."
Zipacna: "In favor of Klorel."
O'Neill: "Big surprise there."
Chancellor: "Nox archon."
Lya: "After careful consideration, I believe that both Klorel and Skaara have the right to live.  But living as a host with no will of one's own is not life.  Therefore only one may remain in the body.  To that end, I award priority to the original owner of the body, Skaara."
O'Neill: "Yes!  Now get that mother ship out of here!"
Chancellor: "We will summon the Tok'ra to come to Tollana to assist in the removal of the Goa'uld Klorel.  He will be removed from the host and if he survives, will be sent to the Goa'uld world of his choosing.  I have locked the detachment device.  Skaara, you have priority control until the Goa'uld's removal.  Prepare yourself.  The Tok'ra will arrive as soon as possible.  And congratulations."
Skaara: "Thank you."
Chancellor: "Lord Zipacna, you are dismissed with our thanks."

O'Neill, to Narim: "How's that superior technology looking now?  Security system serving you pretty well, is it?"
Daniel: "The ion cannons."
O'Neill: "Got a deadlock on all of them.  You know, I hate when people waste my time like this."

Chancellor, to Teal'c: "You disregarded my warnings."
O'Neill: "Mine too.  Well done."
Chancellor: "If you were my subject I would be forced to discipline you.  However, you are not one of my subjects."
Teal'c: "It could not have been done without the assistance of Lya."
Carter: "I thought the Nox were pacifists."
Lya: "I only hid the weapon.  I did not fire it."
Carter: "Ah.  Pretty fine line you didn't cross."
Lya: "Yes, it is."
O'Neill: "So, we basically saved your whole planet, right?"
Chancellor: "Yes."
O'Neill: "Are you, therefore, indebted to us in any modest way?"
Chancellor: "I suppose that is the case."
O'Neill: "So how 'bout the blueprints to build one of those ion cannons?"
Chancellor: "You have been told our policy.  That has not changed."

Daniel: "The Tok'ra have completed the procedure."
O'Neill: "Yeah."
Lya: "What will become of Klorel?"
Narim: "He will be sent to a Goa'uld world."
O'Neill: "The hell with him, what...?"
Skaara: "O'Neill!"
O'Neill: "Much better."
