Synopsis: Last we left our intrepid team, SG-1 had just discovered Apophis was still alive and wanting to reclaim his power. Daniel tells him that Ammonet is dead; Apophis says he'd heard the news but didn't believe it. It must also be true then that Teal'c is the one who killed her. Apophis' guard, Kintar, finds the communication device on Daniel and hands it to Apophis, who then tells Teal'c that his god is still alive and SG-1 will suffer a horrible fate. He sends SG-1 back down to the pit and appoints Kintar to be his First Prime. He doesn't want Kintar to kill SG-1 quite yet...he wants to have the pleasure of doing that himself.
Back in the Pit, Martouf tells the others "I told you so" (i.e. his warning that Sokar could revive Apophis in "Serpent's Song"). They question why Sokar even bothered letting Apophis live...and Martouf says that Apophis has one chance to convince Sokar not to kill him. How's that? By using their information about Earth and the Tok'ra. Uh oh.
Next, Apophis decides to address the denizens of Naetu. He tells them that he will deliver them from their suffering on Naetu if they support him. Many bow to him to show their support in him as their "god."
Meanwhile, on Delmak, Sokar's guard has just reported to him that the cargo ship they saw in orbit went into hyperdrive and escaped from Sokar's forces. Sokar says they have to assume the ship contained spies and they'll have to ready their fleet to attack in two days.
Back in Naetu, Apophis is looking at his horribly disfigured face and Kintar approaches. Three hundred of the denizens support Apophis as their "Deliverer" and those who didn't were banished to the surface to either change their minds or die. Kintar also tells Apophis that they found a "crude weapon"--the controller that operates the Tok'ra memory device. Too bad they can't use these crude weapons to fight Sokar (who will attack after one day when he realizes Binar hasn't reported to him)...but wait! Apophis says he can stop the attack. Binar was supposed to find out the identity of the intruders, but Apophis already knows who they are. Now all he'll have to do is get some important information from them and use it to barter with Sokar for his life. He instructs Kintar to bring the woman to him.
Kintar does as he's told and heads down to the Pit to grab Carter. O'Neill tries to keep them from taking her, but Kintar just shoots him in the leg with his staff weapon. OUCH. Carter agrees to go and Daniel tends to O'Neill's wound.
Once Carter arrives in Apophis' presence, he searches for the Tok'ra device still hidden behind her ear. Satisfied that he found it, he forces her to drink an icky liquid known as the Blood of Sokar, something which is supposed to cloud her mind so he can access whatever information he wants from her mind. She has a flashback.
She's sitting on a bed in a rather, um, interesting black and white dress, looking at pictures of her mother. Her father comes in and they talk about how her mother died and how her brother blames Jacob...and Jacob blames himself. For the record, Jacob was supposed to pick her mom up from work one day but was late; her mom then took a cab, which was in an accident, killing her. Carter says she forgave her father long ago--why is she even stuck in this weird dream being replayed over again? (The flashback is occurring kinda sorta like a broken record, replaying clips of dialogue over and over again, though not to the extent of "The Gamekeeper.") Next Jacob tells her that he's dying, and unless she tells him how to get to Earth and get past Earth's iris, he'll die. Carter realizes something very fishy is going on here, and suddenly she snaps back into the present, where Apophis is pretending to be her father and demanding this information. If she doesn't tell him, he'll kill Jacob.
Meanwhile in the galaxy, Teal'c has arrived back on Borash (Tok'ra world) and replays the message Apophis sent to him. He says when he heard Apophis, he knew his friends wouldn't be able to escape at that time and he took off to report this news to the Tok'ra. It's only a matter of time before Sokar realizes what's happened on Naetu and attacks. The Tok'ra named Aldwin says that Teal'c has given them some very valuable information and he goes off to consult the Tok'ra high council about how to react to the news.
Carter's taken back to the Pit and O'Neill is taken away to play mind games with Apophis. He says Carter told Apophis nothing and neither will he, but Apophis forces (i.e. is rather inconsiderate to O'Neill's wounded leg) him to drink the Blood of Sokar. Before we cut back to the Pit, we see an image of O'Neill holding a baseball glove and calling for Charlie.
Carter wakes up in the Pit and calls for her father; Daniel tells her he's not doing so good but that he's still alive. He also tells her that they next took Jack away to see Apophis. Carter tells them about the Blood of Sokar and Martouf explains that it's a legendary narcotic, capable of producing realistic hallucinations. Carter's pretty sure she didn't tell Apophis anything. Jacob wakes up and Carter crawls over by him. He says he thinks he's going to die, Carter tells him he can't die--she doesn't want to have to explain this to his grandkids. He passes out again and she next tells warns Martouf that he's never experienced torture like this before. He must not let Apophis use Jolinar against him...especially after what she had to do to escape from Naetu. She loved Martouf.
Let's see what O'Neill's up to, shall we? He walks up to a play house and calls for Charlie; Charlie jumps out and points a water gun at him, saying O'Neill is dead. O'Neill gets upset at the gun and says he can't use it; Charlie also gets upset and heads back to the house. O'Neill stops him and says he bought him a baseball glove and that they should forget the gun and just play catch. However, Charlie tells him that this wasn't how the actual event happened--that incident took place 2 weeks before he shot himself with Jack's gun and they never once played a game of catch. Ah, but the catch (sorry) is, if Jack agrees to tell Charlie something, he will play catch. Tell him how to contact the Asgard or where the planet where the Ancients' knowledge was downloaded into his brain and sure, he'll play catch. O'Neill notices this is not right and refuses to tell him.
Meanwhile on Borash, Aldwin has returned to the cargo ship with a container. Inside the container is a weapon that the Tok'ra high council wants him to fire at Naetu. If Sokar's ship is orbiting Naetu when the moon reaches critical mass, it'll take out Sokar along with the moon. Teal'c wants to rescue his friends first but Aldwin doesn't seem very convinced of this. In the end, however, Teal'c agrees to accompany Aldwin back to Naetu.
O'Neill wakes up back in the Pit. Daniel asks how he's doing, then says that Apophis took Martouf to question him next. O'Neill passes out again. Short scene. =)
Teal'c and Aldwin are flying through space back to Naetu. Teal'c still believes if Sokar's ship isn't in orbit yet, they can try to rescue SG-1. Aldwin replies that he's not any happier about the situation but timing is critical. They'll have 12 minutes between the launch of the weapon and the time when the moon reaches critical mass. Sokar can't find out their plans or he'll be able to escape the blast.
So Martouf is given the mind device and some of the Blood of Sokar. Carter's dragged in front of him and Apophis tells him that if he doesn't reveal the location of the Tok'ra resistance, he'll kill her. Martouf, seeing Carter as Jolinar, starts crying; Carter/Jolinar tells him that she's not really Jolinar and that Martouf can't tell them anything. He finally breaks down and reveals that the location of the resistance is on a planet called Entac. Finally, Apophis got some information!
On Borash, Sokar's guard approaches and reports that the fleet is ready. Binar still hasn't reported as instructed; Sokar says he'll take the fleet and destroy/cleanse the underworld, then rebuild it. Soon the whole realm of the Goa'uld will suffer the fate of the damned.
Once Martouf and Carter are back in the pit, Carter says Martouf shouldn't have told Apophis about Entac. Martouf says he knows, but he couldn't let Apophis kill Carter before his eyes. Carter suddenly realizes that Martouf lied about the location of the Tok'ra resistance. Wow, was he convincing.
Now it's Daniel's turn to be interrogated. He's brought before Apophis and suddenly finds himself standing inside the SGC, looking through a crate of stuff Kasuf sent him after Sha're's funeral. O'Neill walks in and asks him how he's doing. He then tells Daniel he can't give up because Sha're wouldn't want him to. After all, they still have to find the Harsesis boy, right? Oh, by the way, what planet did Ammonet sent him to again? You know O'Neill and his memory. Like the rest of SG-1, Daniel successfully realizes something's wrong and refuses to tell him. Apophis gets ticked and is about to kill Daniel when Sokar's voice sounds in the room, threatening Binar. Apophis talks to Sokar, tells him Binar was incompetent and is now dead and that he wants to take over as lord of Naetu. He's extracted information from the intruders...such as the location of the Tok'ra resistance. In exchange for this information, Sokar agrees to grant Apophis' request...but he must report to Sokar directly onboard Sokar's mother ship. Apophis agrees.
Daniel, however, has been listening this conversation and notices something on a nearby table...the communication device they used during "Jolinar's Memories" to talk to Teal'c. Apophis orders Kintar to take Daniel back to the Pit, but before Daniel gets up he punches one of the Jaffa in the stomach. This causes absolutely no reaction in the Jaffa...well, except for a swift blow to Daniel's face. Daniel is knocked toward the table where the communication device is sitting and secretly grabs it before he's dragged away by the Jaffa. Bright boy, if you ask me. =) After he's gone, Kintar reminds Apohis that Sokar won't allow weapons on his mother ship; Apophis says of course not, but he's been planning this since the moment he arrived at Naetu. He has a nasty-looking knife concealed in his armor and when Sokar has him bow to brand him lord of Naetu....
Teal'c and Aldwin arrive at Naetu and see Sokar's ship already in orbit. They must maintain a position in the shadow of the moon so Sokar doesn't detect them.
Daniel's returned to the Pit and reports what he heard and that he got the communication device back. Carter takes it and talks to Teal'c, but while they're talking, Aldwin launches the weapon at Naetu. Teal'c is furious but it's too late--what's done is done. The weapons lands in a molten lava pit and causes a rumble on the planet. Carter asks what happened, Teal'c tells them they have 12 minutes to escape. Carter says she has an idea and she, Daniel, and Martouf start packing a vent full of rocks.
Apophis transports himself via the ring device up to Sokar's ship. He reports that he's questioned the intruders, butters Sokar up, does a lot of bluffing (taking lessons from the Asgard?), then finally reveals that the Tok'ra resistance is on Entac. Sokar coolly replies that he just conquered Entac and there were no Tok'ra there. He orders his first prime to kill Apophis in front of him...slowly.
Since there's 9 minutes left before Naetu explodes, Teal'c wants to stay behind and rescue his friends but Aldwin refuses. He levels a zat at Teal'c, but Teal'c knocks it away and locks Aldwin in a nearby room.
Carter, Daniel, and Martouf have finished packing stones in the vent and back away. The pressure in the vent explodes upward, breaking the gate out of the Pit.
On Sokar's ship, Apophis is being tortured with that nasty shocker/zapper gun. (See "Point of View" and "Jolinar's Memories")
SG-1 gets out of the Pit and Daniel tells Teal'c that they're heading toward the transport rings. Timing is critical.
Aldwin finally realizes Teal'c is determined to help his friends and tells Teal'c that their ship has to be in the direct path of the transport rings...which happens to be right between Sokar's ship and Naetu. He also has to bring the ship to a complete stop or else...the others are not going to be happy campers.
Sokar's guard reports that Naetu is erupting, which confuses Sokar since he controls Naetu. Apophis uses the distraction to attack the First Prime with his knife. He slices the other guard's neck, grabs his staff weapon, and fires at Sokar, but Sokar has an energy barrier. Apophis doesn't hesitate and gets away. Sokar is mad.
SG-1 transports up and Teal'c's ship is in perfect position. They arrive in the room where Aldwin is locked up; he then tells Teal'c they're there and they take off through space. They get away just in time to see Naetu explode and Sokar's ship to get caught in the blast...and the transport rings take someone away from the ship toward Delmak.
Teal'c opens the door and (with a rare half-smile) announces that they've escaped, at which everyone is rather happy. Jacob tells Sam that they should take a father-daughter vacation to Alaska (someplace cold <g>) and she agrees.
Last thing we see is Apophis on Delmak watching the destruction of Naetu. He's alive...still. As for Sokar, well, we don't know, do we? On a show like this, are people ever really dead? Guess we'll have to wait for future episodes to find out. =)

Quotes:
O'Neill: "You do understand we're not too happy to see you."
Apophis: "Your insolence is music to my ears. When I first saw you here I knew I had found the path out of damnation. You will be the means by which I reclaim the power and position that is rightfully mine!"
Daniel: "Your mate Ammonet is dead. Sorry to ruin your day. No, actually, I'm...I'm wrong about that. I'm not sorry."
Apophis: "Sokar sent word to me of Ammonet's death. I did not believe it."
Daniel: "Well believe it. It's true."
Apophis: "Then it must also be true that Teal'c is the murderer."
O'Neill: "Oh, that's wrap up things real nice for ya, wouldn't it?"Martouf: "I warned you when you sent Apophis through the Gate that he could be revived using a sarcophagus. Sokar would rather see his victims suffering than dead."
O'Neill: "He doesn't seem to be suffering much."O'Neill, about Apophis' speech to the denizens: "Well, this experience doesn't seem to have humbled him much."
Jacob: "Sam? Are you almost ready? Can we talk? Sam, you haven't said two words since...since the accident. Your brother's made it pretty clear how he feels."
Carter: "He blames you."
Jacob: "I blame myself."
Carter: "Your work has always been more important than us."
Jacob: "You know that's not true. I don't want you to forgive me and I don't know if I could accept that yet. I just want you to understand."
Carter: "You were supposed to pick Mom up. You were late. She took a cab. There was an accident. I understand."
Jacob: "I couldn't have known what would happen."
Carter: "Mom is dead."
Jacob: "Nothing I could say or do could change that. All I can try to do is make sure the things she loved most don't die with her. Sam, without you and your brother my life is over. Nothing else means more to me. Don't forgive me...just tell me one day we're going to be okay." There's a brief image of Carter in the present, then return to flashback...
Carter: "He blames you."
Jacob: "I blame myself."
Carter: "Mom is dead."
Jacob: "Just tell me one day we're going to be okay." The image repeats, "Just tell me one day we're going to be okay."
Carter: "No. I forgave you long ago. Why am I stuck in this? This same memory over and over? I guess if we never had this conversation, neither of us would be in this mess, would we? I would've gone on hating you and the military, I never would've gotten involved with the Stargate program, you would've died of cancer...."
Jacob: "Sam, I am dying."
Carter: "What?"
Jacob: "I'm dying right now..." The broken record skips. "I'm dying right now. Only you can save me. Tell me how to get home."
Carter: "What?"
Jacob: "Tell me the way home to Earth."
Carter: "This is not right."
Jacob: "You'll lose me forever if you don't tell me the iris code."
Carter: "This is not real."
Jacob: "Tell me." The image switches to Apophis with Jacob's voice. "Tell me."
Apophis, with his own voice: "Tell me!"
Carter: "No!"
Apophis: "Tell me how to penetrate the Earth's Stargate! ell me now or I will kill your father!"Apophis: "Major Carter was most forthcoming."
O'Neill: "She didn't tell you squat. By the way, I won't either."
Apophis: "You are not here to provide information. You are here for my amusement."Jacob: "Sam."
Carter: "I'm here. I'm here."
Jacob: "Sam, I hate to sound negative here...."
Carter: "Shh...save your strength."
Jacob: "I don't think I'm going to make it."
Carter: "No. That is unacceptable. Think about seeing your grandchildren again. Don't make me have to explain this to them." Jacob nods. "Martouf, if they come for you...."
Martouf: "I have endured torture before."
Carter: "This isn't like anything you could imagine. Everything seems real. Feelings, sensations...it's like you're actually there in your own past. And then suddenly everything seems wrong. Your mind gets all twisted. Just don't let Apophis use Jolinar against you."
Martouf: "How could he?"
Carter: "You must be angry about what Jolinar had to do to escape from here. Martouf, she loved you."O'Neill: "Charlie! Sorry I'm late. Stopped to get you something. You in there?"
Charlie, jumping out of the play house with a water gun: "You're dead! You're dead!"
O'Neill: "Where'd you get that?"
Charlie: "Jeff Eisen gave it to me. It's just a water gun."
O'Neill, taking the gun away: "That doesn't matter."
Charlie: "You have a gun."
O'Neill: "That's different."
Charlie: "Why?" He starts walking away.
O'Neill: "Charlie? Charlie! Where're you going?"
Charlie: "Inside."
O'Neill: "Well, wait a minute. I got you something. Come on, we'll play some catch."
Charlie: "This is not what happened, Dad. You're changing everything to make it better."
O'Neill: "I know. Can't we just play catch?"
Charlie: "What really happened is that you got mad at me and I went into the house. Two week from now I shot myself with your gun. We never played catch a day and we never will."
O'Neill: "Why? Why can't we just play catch?"
Charlie: "I'll play...if you tell me..." The broken record skips. "If you tell me..."
O'Neill: "What? What do you want to know? I'll tell you anything."
Charlie: "Tell me how you make contact with the Asgard." Record skips. "...the Asgard."
O'Neill: "What?"
Charlie: "You represented Earth in the negotiations between the Asgard and the system lords."
O'Neill: "How'd you know that?"
Charlie: "It's okay, Dad, you can tell me. Tell me the address of the Asgard home world."
O'Neill: "I don't know it."
Charlie: "Tell me the address of the world where you had the Ancients' knowledge downloaded into your brain. That was cool, wasn't it?"
O'Neill: "You can't know that. This isn't you."
Charlie: "Sure it is. Come on, Dad. We'll have a catch. Just like you want."
O'Neill: "No. No."Daniel: "Jack."
O'Neill: "No, I don't wanna go to school." He wakes up.
Daniel: "You okay?"
O'Neill: "No."
Daniel: "They, ah, they took Martouf."
O'Neill: "They put that damn memory thing on me. And then they gave me something that reminded me of the '70s."
Daniel: "The Blood of Sokar."
O'Neill: "Daniel?"
Daniel: "Yeah?"
O'Neill: "I'm gonna pass out again." He does.Apophis: "Jolinar was your mate. Tell me the location of the Tok'ra resistance or she dies."
Carter/Jolinar: "Don't do it, Martouf."
Apophis: "Silence."
Martouf, crying: "Please."
Apophis: "Tell me now."
Carter/Jolinar: "I'm not Jolinar. You can't tell him anything."
Apophis, pointing his staff weapon at her: "Tell me."
Martouf: "I can't let him kill you."
Carter/Jolinar: "No, Martouf. No, Martouf."
Martouf: "Entac. The Tok'ra resistance is based on the planet Entac."Martouf: "I knew it was you."
Carter: "You shouldn't have done it, Martouf."
Martouf: "I could not watch them kill you, Samantha."
Carter: "You lied."
Martouf: "Entac is a primitive planet. There are no Tok'ra there."
Carter: "You were very convincing. I believed you."O'Neill: "Hey, just wanted to see how you were doin'."
Daniel: "Good. Okay. Kasuf sent me some of Sha're's things after the funeral. He said...well, he said that she would've wanted me to have them. We both drank from this cup at our wedding. I know I shouldn't have had any real hope but...."
O'Neill: "Hey. You can never give up."
Daniel: "How 'bout now?"
O'Neill: "Especially not now. Sha're didn't want you to just give up. As I recall, she wants you to find the boy."
Daniel: "I thought you said you didn't believe me about Sha're sending me a message through the hand device."
O'Neill: "I've been wrong about a lot of things and I know I don't always sound like I always believe you, but I do believe in you. What'd you say she called the boy?" Broken record skips. "...Call the boy?"
Daniel: "A harsesis."
O'Neill: "I mean, the kid holds all the knowledge of the Goa'uld who fathered it, right?"
Daniel: "Yeah."
O'Neill: "So he could be the key to us finally kicking those slimy snake heads out of the galaxy."
Daniel: "That's, ah, that's what Sha're said."
O'Neill: "All you have to do is find out where Ammonet sent him. The name? Name of the place Ammonet sent the boy."
Daniel: "No."
O'Neill: "What?"
Daniel: "No, I'm not telling you."
O'Neill: "Oh come on, you know me. I just can't remember..." Record skips, "...just can't remember."
Daniel: "No."
O'Neill: "You told me before."
Daniel: "No! No!" We cut back to the present. "This is not real."Daniel, holding up the communication device: "I managed to get this."
O'Neill: "Nice."Martouf: "The Tok'ra high council must believe it is the only choice or else they would never sacrifice us this way."
O'Neill: "We're not dead yet."Teal'c: "We have escaped."
O'Neill: "Ice tea, air conditioning...water."Jacob: "Do you have any leave coming up?"
Carter: "Yeah, a little."
Jacob: "I was thinking maybe we could take a little father-daughter vacation together."
Carter: "That would be great, Dad."
Jacob: "I hear Alaska is cold this time of year."
