Colonel Jack O'Neill

(Played by Richard Dean Anderson)

What We Know About O'Neill: He's originally from Chicago ("Children of the Gods") and he's Irish ("Cold Lazarus"). As for his family life, he was once married to a woman named Sara. From the flashbacks in "Cold Lazarus" we learn that they were once very, very happy together. At least, they were happy until tragedy struck when their son, Charlie, killed himself with Jack's personal gun. Not surprisingly, it devastated them, but especially Jack. They separated some time between the Stargate movie and "Children of the Gods." He doesn't see her much but he still loves her very deeply (he writes a letter to her during "Brief Candle").

As for his military life, he's a Colonel in the Air Force.

Some of his "Jackisms" are "Oh for crying out loud," calling SG-1 "campers" or "kids," calling Daniel "Danny Boy" or "Space Monkey," among others I'll figure out when I'm done with my quotes pages.

Episodes focusing on O'Neill: There's not actually that many O'Neill-centric episodes since he (obviously) plays the leader in every episode. "Cold Lazarus" and "Brief Candle" focus a lot on him, as do "A Matter of Time," "The Fifth Race" (yeah, I know, he doesn't talk much...so sue me! On second thought, don't sue me) and "Show and Tell."
