Summary: Anna gets her first training, and meets Cassie and Jacob

Two are my friends, and the third is -who would have thought- me. And the hero(ine) always has to be more perfect, than a normal citizen. Chapter three

"Anne" came a knock on her door.

She turned around, and pulled the blanket over her ears. Her eyes went open slowly, and looked at the watch, standing on the nightstand. It was 5.30 a.m.

"Anne, Colonel O'Neill and Teal'c are waiting for you."

Anna jumped off the bed, and dashed out of the room. And then she hurried back immediately.

"You didn't tell, that they are waiting for me in front of my door" she complained, while she was changing into her BDU. Putting on her socks, she was smiling, like a baby after fed with milk. Of Done that, she hurried out of her room again.

"Good morning" she greeted them politely.

"She is dressed purposefully. Good, you can come with us right now. Bye, Major!" Jack waved Sam good-bye, hauling Anna after him.

"Wait!" Sam called after them. "I think, she will need a scarf and a cap, too. Don't you think, Colonel?"

"I think, Major Carter is right, O'Neill."

"Okay" he sighed. "Anne, gather your belongings, and meet us at the car."

She nodded, and then turned to Sam, while she was pulling her cap and scarf out of the garderobe, standing behind the flat-door.

"What are they wanna do with me?"

"Training" Sam said plainly.

"Sorry, if they should wake you up."

"I don't mind, I have to report for duty in an hour."

"Good-bye, Major Carter!"

"Bye, Anne!" she smiled after her, and went to the window. Jack and Teal'c were sitting in the car, and Anna was down in a record time.

She got into the car, waved Sam good-bye, and they were off in the next moment. Sam got ready, and called Janet, before driving to the SGC.

"Want a lift to the base, Janet?"

"Why not?" Janet asked back. "How is she?"

"She is off with Jack and Teal'c."

"Why?"

"Training, I guess. They were here at 5.30, and brought her away."

"For God's sake! It's the 23rd of December!"

"It's not Christmas Eve, Janet. I'll be there in ten minutes. Is Cassie better?"

"Yes, but I have to take her to the base. The baby-sitter caught a flu, and cannot come."

"Anne could baby-sit her, after they will have come back from her training. She is a teacher, Cassie would be in good hands."

"I was thinking the same. Lt. Simmons cannot anyway, he caught a flu, too. I wonder, how many of the base personal will pay me a visit today."

Anna was running up the hill, at the foot smiling broad, ten minutes later collapsing at the feet of Teal'c.

"What's wrong?"

"No…..Nothi….Nothing" she groaned. "Every…Everything is okay" she said, after taking a very deep breath.

"Good, then you are ready to the next stage."

"Sure" she shot a dark look right into the back of Teal'c, then got up on her feet again, following him resolutely.

"You know" she said, after collapsing next to Teal'c again "this hill, as Jack calls it, is a mountain in my home."

"Really?" Teal'c was interested. "How high is the highest mountain of your home?"

"1014 meter" she replied, hoping, that she could rest for a while.

"This one is lower" he got up, and looked down at Anna. Seeing how miserable she was, he gave her a helping hand, and pulled her up to her feet.

"Thank you" she smiled at him gratefully.

They were already coming down, as Jack had joined them. "I'm ready, Teal'c. How is she doing?" he looked up, where Anna was descending.

"Good. She is tired, but she doesn't want to give up."

"I see. Hey, Anne" he greeted her with a grin.

"Hi, Colonel" she sat down.

"Tired?"

"Not a bit" came the brief, sarcastic reply, and then she gave a triumphantly, yet kind smile to Teal'c.

"Good, then you will surely enjoy the next exercise. We are goin' on with defending."

"Defending?

"Yeah, you know there is one thing you should always remember, when it comes to a fight: YOU have to get in the first punch. Most bastards aren't so tough, as they talk. If they feel suddenly loose some teeth, they will rub their rubs, look at the blood on their hands, and offer you to buy a drink. But if they still feel like fighting, you are one punch ahead, when the fight starts."

"There is just one trouble with this theory. It is only statistically true. Every once in a while you run into some guy, who likes to fight, he is better at it. If you start off by loosening a few of his teeth he may try to kill you."

"Well, I never! Have you read the whole story?"

"Of course, how could I quote from it, if I haven't? It is one of my favorites. So what did you meant with defending? Boxing or weapons?"

"Kinda."

"Colonel, my hands are trembling, don't expect, that I can pull a trigger."

"You can shoot?"

"Yes,…"

"Then why should we train you shooting? The knife is your best friend, ask Major Carter."

"Knife?"

"Yes, the knife."

"Good" she sighed, and stood up, following Jack down. She took a look behind, seeing, if Teal'c is following them. He was. She turned back, and smiled.

They were back to the SGC in ten minutes. Daniel was waiting for them.

"Good, I don't have to climb after you. Jack, General Hammond is waiting for you in his office." "I think, we should postpone our exercise, Anne. Teal'c, please, come with me! Anne, you keep yourself on the go. Daniel, you are responsible for her, see to it, that she eats a proper breakfast."

"Yes, sir" they saluted him.

After seeing them disappearing, Anna shook her head, and then turned to Daniel.

"How are you today?"

"Fine. Dr Fraiser agreed, that I will start with the radiotherapy on the 2nd of January. I can spend Christmas together with the others."

"That's good" Anna nodded. "What did she say about you teaching Cassie?"

"She found the idea good. Cassie is here, c'mon, she is waiting for me in the mess hall."

On their way to there, Daniel got more and more surprised. Anna knew every second person, coming along the corridors. "Where have you met all these people?"

"Mostly in the mess hall yesterday, some of them are working in the control-room, or under Sgt. Siler. And I was in his lab yesterday for two and a half hours."

"I see" he nodded. "But you knew their names."

"That's my secret weapon at the university, Daniel. I remember every name, my students find it good."

"I had got always problems with that. How can you manage this?"

"I don't think you wanna hear my method, it's a bit complicated."

"Well, try me."

"Okay, I'll explain you on an example. I remember the persons in pairs. Let's take your name and Janet's. Her first name, and your family name is rather…uhm."

"Uncommon?" Daniel grinned at her.

"Sure" she grinned at him back.

"And what about the two female sergeants, we met before?"

"They are working in the control-room. The one with the brown hair is Sgt. Jill Smith, the other with the black hair, is Sgt. Ashley Taylor."

"And?"

"I was a big fan of sit-coms in my youth. I have learned German from the TV. Actually grammar in the school, words from the TV. The German free TVs were airing a lot of American sit-coms. And I always liked Home Improvement, and my room-mate liked The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."

"I haven't seen those sit-coms."

"Look, you have to elaborate your own system."

"We are here" Anna pushed the door, and walked in. She looked around, and noticed Cassie. She was almost alone in the mess hall.

She looked up, seeing Daniel, a smile crossed her face. Then she took a look at Anne, and her face straightened. Daniel, followed by Anna, went to her, and greeted her with a hug.

"¡Hola preciosa!"

"¡Hola! No me lo dijiste que ella fuera bonita."

Anna smiled at her, like she didn't knew, what she have just said. But when Cassie asked in the next moment, if Daniel would marry her, she shook her head.

"No, he doesn't want to marry me" she protested in English.

"You speak Spanish?" Cassie asked back astonished.

"Yes, I do. Hi, my name is Anne David" she stretched out her hand.

"Good Morning, Ms David" Cassie greeted her formally, taking her hand. "My name is Cassandra Fraiser. My friends call me Cassie."

"Nice to meet you, Cassandra. Would you mind to call me Anne, only my pupils call me Ms David."

"I didn't know, that you were teaching in a high-school, too" Daniel said.

"I was teaching English in an elementary school, Daniel."

"I see. What do you want for breakfast?" he asked her.

"Actually, I'm not hungry."

"But you must eat, Jack ordered you to eat a proper breakfast. And I'm responsible for you following his order."

"Daniel…"

"We have pancakes and toast. What can I bring you two?" Cassie interrupted her.

"Toast, please" Anna sighed, giving in. "And orange juice."

"Daniel?"

"I'm not hungry."

Anna wanted to protest, but Cassie's gaze warned her to just let her do this on her own way. Soon she was back with Anna's toast and orange juice. Then she went back for her pancakes. Although she said that, she came back with two plates, and she placed the second one in front of Daniel. He looked up, and wanted to protest, but Cassie was off again, this time for the maple syrup. As she arrived back, Daniel took the syrup out of her hand, and poured the syrup onto his pancakes.

"Hey, the syrup is mine! You were not even hungry!"

"Then why did you placed a plate full of pancakes right under my nose?" Daniel asked, grinning, still holding the bottle in a way, that Cassie couldn't reach it.

"Hey, what's going on here?" Sam stepped in, her appearence startled the two, and the bottle fell. Fortunately, it was a plastic one.

" It was Daniel's fault" Cassie pointed to Daniel.

" Yes, it was" Daniel lowered his head, but then looked up at Cassie, and they bursted out in laugh.

" You two are infantile" Sam shook her head. "Cassie, you could go back to the Springs with Anne, you can take my car."

" And me?" Daniel asked them.

" We will need you here" Sam said. " SG-3 went back to P4A-623, and from six hours ago SG-6 went after them. They should have been contacting us two hours ago. So SG-1 is going to P4A-623, and we're starting a search party."

" I have to go with you?" Daniel asked excited, and Anna saw, that he was almost on P4A-623.

" Of course not. Although Colonel O'Neill wanted you, but Janet forbid you the gate-travel."

" Yeah, I know. And?" he asked resignated.

" We need a contact person, General Hammond had to go to a meeting. J… Colonel O'Neill is in charge. I hope you could help us."

" Of course."

" What's wrong Cassandra?" Anna asked her.

" I wanted to ask General Hammond, if he could come to my Christmas Party."

" Sorry, sweetheart. Maybe he will be back today. Or tomorrow."

" But the party is tomorrow."

" I know, Cass, but …"

" I see" Cassie nodded. " Then I assume Anne is my baby-sitter for today."

" Yes, because her training is cancelled. Here are the keys, and here is my mobile. Cassie, you behave yourself, and Anne, please don't let her out of sight."

" Of course not" Cassie whispered to Daniel, rolling her eyes, and Anna smiled at her remark.

" Cassandra Fraiser, I don't think, that you are aware of the seriousness of this situation" Sam said in an unmistakable warning tone.

" Of course, I am. But you know, I was always optimistic, and I have invited you for my Christmas Party, even Teal'c said, he would come. I know, that you will be back home before Christmas, you don't want to disappoint a little girl."

" Of course not" Sam went to hug her, and she left with Daniel.

Chapter four

Anna parked far away from the Mall, and Cassie looked at her surprised.

" Why…?"

" I'm sure, that the Mall is full. And I think every other people arrived there by car, we don't want to spend all day there looking for a parking space, and then looking for an exit."

" Yes, but there is a deep garage, too."

" Which is surely full, but if you want, we could try."

" No, mom parks always here" Cassie smiled at her.

" What do you want to buy?"

" I have not that much money. The photos were very expensive."

" What kind of photos?"

" I got a camera from Sam and Jack for my birthday, and I have tried it out on my birthday. All the people were there, who will attend my party tomorrow."

" I see. And?"

" And I want something special for everyone."

" This is simple, Cassandra. You could buy picture frames for your photos, and give everyone a special picture."

" I fear, I don't have enough money."

" I don't have many either, but we could unite. I couldn't buy anything for them."

" That's a deal!" Cassie's face brightened. "Those were OUR gifts."

" Okay" Anna nodded in agreement. " And you could still buy something special for your mom."

" Like what?"

" I don't know, let's find the frames first, Cassandra."

" Alright" Cassie nodded.

Soon they had found the right shop, and they bought frames for Cassie's pictures.

" Don't worry" Anna said reassuringly, seeing how Cassie was measuring the frames. " We can adjust them."

Three bodies emerged from the event horizon of the Stargate on P4A- 623. First came Jack, then Teal'c, and then Sam. Jack turned back to see the Stargate, but then he walked down to the M.A.L.P. Sam knew, that he was waiting for Daniel, and now he was disappointed , that nobody came after her.

" We are here, Daniel" came Jack's voice from the other side.

" Anything interesting?" Daniel asked.

" No trees here" Jack said, looking around.

Daniel grimaced at his remark, and then looked up at Janet, who was standing next to him.

" Are there people somewhere?"

" Nope, no trace of them. There are only bushes. I don't like bushes."

" Stop complaining, and search for them" Daniel ordered him.

" Aye-aye, sir!" Jack saluted, grinning, then shut the M.A.L.P. off, and went after Teal'c, who took point. He looked at Sam, and saw, that she was smiling at him reassuringly.

" I miss him, too, sir" she confessed.

" You mean Daniel?"

" Sure, sir."

" And what are you missing, his continous sneezing, or his explaining of ancient myths, or his enthusiasm for artifacts?"

" You miss him, too" Sam said smiling. Jack used the scientific termini, and not the words, with what he annoyed the hell out of Daniel. Such as rocks for artifacts, and fairy-tales for myths.

" You caught me, Major. I miss him, too. And, please, don't forget about it, we are a three person unit now. Our former strategy shouldn't work this time."

" I know, sir" Sam nodded seriously. Although Daniel was not exactly the best sharpshooter of the world, he was still a valueable member, when it came to cover each other.

" O'Neill, there are the members of SG-3 and 6" Teal'c's voice came through the radio.

" Coming" Jack responded, and he and Sam hurried after their friend. A really amazing scenario welcomed them, as they had arrived there, from where Teal'c was observing the happennings. Four boys, not older, than ten-twelve years, were holding the brave soldiers of two SG teams in bay. Of course Jack did understand their dilemma, but for cryin' out loud, eight men should somehow be able to disarm four little boys. And then he saw the bows and the arrows.

" They have got bows, sir" Sam whispered, as if she were reading his mind.

" And, Major?" he asked back whispering.

" The arrows could be poisoned."

" I know" Jack nodded. " Zat guns."

" We have got only three" Sam remembered him.

" I know."

" We should have brought Lt.Robertson with us, O'Neill."

" No way!" he protested vehemently.

" Why not?" Sam asked back.

" Major, this is not quite the right time to discuss this issue…Okay, I can't stand him."

" Why not?"

" He is boring."

" Because he doesn't laugh at your sarcastic remarks?" Sam asked him.

" No" Jack shook his head. " Because he doesn't even understand them."

Sam only nodded, and they turned back their attention to the present problem.

" I'll be back in five minutes" Daniel hurried out of the control- room. Janet looked after him, on her face a worried expression, and finally decided, she should go after him. Daniel was standing in front of General Hammond's office, his forehead rested against the cool door.

" Is everything okay, Dr Jackson?"

" What?" he whirled around. " Dr Fraiser" he stated, surprised.

" Is it that bad?"

" It's only the Amsidine, I have got fever. You have said, that I will."

" Yes, let me…" she began, but Daniel stepped back. " Dr Jackson" Janet stepped after him, and checked his forehead, it wasn't that bad, as she had expected it.

" What's wrong?"

" Nausea, mainly. I hate the feeling."

" Have you tried eating honey, when you are getting nauseous?"

" Thanks for your advice" Daniel smiled at her, and they have returned back to the control room. Janet unknowingly placed her right hand protectively on Daniel's shoulder. Daniel noticed this, and shifted a bit, so Janet was more comfortable.

Meanwhile Jack, Sam and Teal'c were discussing, what could they do, but always reached the point, where only one possibility was left to could be done. And that was taking the risk, that one of the boys gets his bow, and shoots one of their captives. So they did it.

And then it went wrong.

Jack blamed Daniel, SG-6 blamed SG-3, and as they were heading back to the Gate, everybody was arguing with everybody. Sam wanted to convince Jack, that this was certainly not Daniel's fault, which he really knew, he just enjoyed the fact, that Sam is the one, who is scolding with him. Only Teal'c and Major Bond, the leader of SG-6, were silent. Last one because of his injuries, first one because it wasn't necessary to speak. He stepped through first, with Major Bond in his arms, and Daniel awaited the worst, but fortunately he wasn't a good clairvoyant.

After Anna and Cassie had left the shop, they were heading to another one, Cassie thought, she could find the right gift for her mom in it.

Suddenly Sam's mobile phone rang.

" Cassandra, stay here next to me, please" Anna said picking up.

" Anne David by Carter."

" Hi, Anne" Janet greeted her, obviously smiling. "I just wanted you to know, that they are back, safe and sound. Well, except of the CO of SG-6. But he will be better soon."

" Oh, that's good. Major Bond is a very kind man" Anna smiled. Janet wasn't sure, if she and Anna were speaking of the same person, but she remembered Daniel telling him about how Anna were making aquitances on Base.

" Well, I just wanted you to know. …" Janet said, and wanted to say something else, but was interrupted by Anna.

Suddenly Cassie ran away, waving towards a girl. Anna called after her, but she didn't hear.

" What's wrong?" Janet asked.

" Nothing, I have to go now, Dr Fraiser. There are many people at the Mall right now."

" She is away?" Janet asked, but there was no response. Anna dropped the phone into the bag, and ran towards Cassie.

" Cass! Your purse!" she shouted, because she saw a boy approaching Cassie, and taking out her purse from her coat pocket.

Cassie whirled around, but the boy was disappeared. Anna could still see him, and ran after him, squeezing the bag into Cassie's hand. The people saw the two running persons with interest, but nobody came to her aid, although they let her through. Finally she reached the boy, and jumped after him. The thief fell onto his knees, and Anna didn't let him to stand up. Soon a security guard appeared, and took him away.

Anna asked for Cassie's purse, but the guard said, she couldn't have it. They should come with him, and after everything is recorded, they could have the purse. Anna waved Cassie to her, and they have followed the guard to the directors office.

" Sorry" Cassie whispered to her.

" I was speaking to your mother, I don't know, how much did she hear" Anna whipered back.

" Is anything wrong?" Cassie asked, with fear in her voice.

" No, they are back, safe and sound" Anna reassured her. Cassie sighed with relief.

" Will you forgive me?" she looked up into her eyes.

" Of course. I'm not angry Cassandra, I'm only a little bit disappointed. We agreed, that you would stay next to me."

" I'm so sorry" she lowered her head.

" I know. I guess, we should call back your mother."

" Okay" she sighed.

While they were waiting for the police, they had called Janet back.

" What was wrong?" she asked from Cassie.

" I saw Julie, and went to her, although I have promised Anne,that I would stay next to her. She was speaking with you, as she saw a thief, stealing my purse. Mom, she was fantastic! She ran after him, and caught him. We are waiting now for the police."

" Really? Can I speak to Anne?"

" Here is Anne" she said, after taking over.

" Are you two okay?" Janet asked worried.

" Yes, Dr Fraiser. I'm sorry, I have left her wander around…"

" You are not responsible. She is fifteen, she should have known better. Are you finished the shopping?"

" Not exactly. We are waiting for her purse right now."

" I see. Okay, we will meet at home. Good-bye."

" Good-bye, Dr Fraiser!"

" Are you getting in trouble because of me?"

" No. But I guess, you are in trouble."

" I know. Sometimes it's not funny, having too many parents."

" How many?"

" Five. And a grandfather, and an elder brother. They are so protective."

" They are loving you."

" I know, but I'm fifteen. And I have to learn it my way, even if that means, that my purse is stolen."

" I have lost my father, as I was seventeen. My mother died two years before that. I was too independent to let them into my life. I was even playing the mother for my mother, while she was sick, and after she died, I remained the mother in the family. My Dad became quiet, and he wasn't able to live in the real world. After he died, my sister and me, were living with our uncle and aunt. They were not the most warm-hearted people I have ever seen. But they cared about us. I was even then playing the mother for my sister."

" Are you missing her?"

" Like crazy, but she is so happy with her husband. And they are expecting a baby now. Actually babies, they are twins. I know, that with him, she is in safety. He cares about her" she said, and then a smile lit up her face. "You know, I have the money from him. We bet about the gender of the baby. And he was so sure, that it will be a girl. And I have told him, that it would be twins. I have won."

" And you had no money except that?"

" No, but I don't need any money, Cassandra."

" You will get paid for your job."

" I know" she nodded indifferently.

And the a policeman arrived at this moment. Anna and Cassie decided, that they don't want to report against the young boy, after all it was Christmas, they only want the purse back. The Mall's director was not so kind-hearted, and let him brought away.

Chapter five

" I don't know, Cass, if this is a good idea."

" But, Anne! Please! I have told you yesterday, that I want you to be here."

" But…"

" Oh, is this because you are not Christian? I'm not too. But Christmas is Christmas. Please!"

" Alright, if General Hammond gives his permission for me leaving the base, I'll come."

" Hoorray!" she jumped up and down, and Janet feared, that she might let the phone fall. " Okay then, I'm waiting for you. Are you coming with Sam?"

" I guess so. Or with someone else, who has got a car, and is invited. Bye, Cass!"

" ¡Hasta luego!"

Anna placed back the reciever, and smiled at Sam, who was sitting next to her in her lab.

" Cass invited me to come to her party tonight. There is only one problem, I don't have got anything to wear."

" Your BDU suits you."

" Thanks, but I don't think, that the others will come in their BDUs."

" Probably not" Sam nodded in agreement, grinning. " You are calling her Cass? Yesterday you adressed her with Cassandra."

" That was yesterday, I have helped her to get her purse back, after it was stolen. We are friends now. Besides we have placed common gifts for you under the Christmas tree."

" Really?" Sam asked. " And what…" she wanted to ask, but was interrupted by a knock. " Come on in!"

Daniel was walking in.

" Jacob is arriving, Sam" he informed her.

" Coming!" she hurried out of her lab, leaving them alone.

" Who is Jacob?" Anna asked Daniel.

" Jacob is Sam's father. He is … A Tok'ra."

" What is a Tok'ra, and why is Ra in the name?"

" The word means 'Against Ra', and they are a little group of individuals, who are fighting against the Goa'uld. They are our allies."

" And who are they exactly?"

" They are goa'uld, too. But for God's sake, don't adress them so! They are Tok'ra."

" Okay, I see. They are Tok'ra. And they are goa'uld. I guess, kinda the good ones. But how could Sam's Dad be a Tok'ra?"

" He is a host to the Tok'ra Selmak. Selmak is one of the eldest and wisest Tok'ra."

" Why?"

" He had cancer, and we had already contacted the Tok'ra, because of the knowledge, what Sam had from Jolinar."

" Who is Jolinar?"

" Jolinar was the Tok'ra, who infected Sam."

" Sam is not a Tok'ra."

" She is not, but she was infected" Daniel said, and then told her the whole story. Anna heard him in silence, and felt sorry for Sam, and her Dad.

" And why are you calling him Jacob?"

" He told me so."

" And how should I adress him?"

" I don't know. General Hammond calls him Jacob, they are knowing each other very well. Jack is calling him Dad, if he couldn't hear him, and General Carter, if he is around. Teal'c calls him General, too."

" Dad?" she asked back smiling.

" Yes, and not 'your Dad, Major Carter' , only Dad."

Anna and Daniel grinned at each other, and Daniel offered her, to accompany her to the conference room. General Hammond and Sam was already in there with Jacob. Teal'c and Jack arrived at the same moment, as Daniel and Anna.

" Dad is here" Jack announced.

Anna could barely hide her amusement, as Daniel said, that he knew.

" How are you?" Jack then turned to her.

" Aching all over, but I like the feeling, lets me know, that I have muscles."

" You are…"

" Colonel, you could come in" General Hammond poked his head out.

" Yes, sir!" Jack nodded.

After taking place, Anna was sitting between Jack and Teal'c, Jacob looked at her with surprise.

" Hi, you must be Anne."

" Yes, sir" she stretched out her hand, and Jacob took it.

" My name is Jacob Carter, but I guess, you know that."

" Yes, Daniel just gave me a short intro to the Tok'ra."

" You told her everything?" Sam asked Daniel.

" Yes, he told me about Jolinar" Anna said, and seeing Sam's face darken, she knew, that she would never ever speak the name loud out.

From the corner of her eye, she saw Jack's jaw tensed. " I think, I should take lessons from Dr Jackson, sir" she then turned to General Hammond.

" Alright" he agreed.

" What's wrong, Colonel O'Neill?"Jacob asked, seeing, that Jack was looking at him.

" You are here."

" Sir!" Sam gulped in hurt. She always thought, that Jack liked her father.

" I meant, that you are here for a certain reason, and excuse me, but you are looking bad. There has to be something wrong."

" Jacob is tired" Selmak took over. " The High Council decided, that we should go on holiday for four days."

" Four days?" Sam asked excited.

" Yes, Sam" Jacob nodded. " I came home for Christmas."

" DAD!" she hugged him tight.

" But we are…"

" You are on downtime for four days, Colonel O'Neill."

" Yes, sir, I know. But we are invited to Cassie's party. Don't forget about that, Major."

" I haven't forgotten that, sir. I'll bring my Dad with. I think, Cassie won't mind."

There was a knock on the door, and Lt.Simmons stepped in after General Hammond's permission.

" Excuse me, sirs, but Dr Fraiser sent me to get Anne. The last vaccination is waiting for her."

" Sir?" Anna turned to General Hammond.

" You may leave, Ms David."

" Thank you, sir!" she said, and dashed out of the conference room.

" She has the same features Jack, is she a relative of you?"

" No, sir" Jack shook his head.

" Although she is much more beautiful, than you. And her eyes, that sparkling, is the sparkling always there in her eyes?" Jacob asked, but nobody gave him an answer.

" Yes" Teal'c nodded finally.

" Dad?" Sam asked him unsurely.

" Sammy! Don't be ridicuolus, she could be my granddaughter. And I'm a Tok'ra."

" She seemed to me, that this would be no problem for her" Daniel added.

" No?"

" No. Although she was very shocked, when I told her about Sam."

" I see."

The guests were arriving continously. Because Sam had something important to do in her lab, she and Anna were coming from the base. Anna wore one of Sam's dresses, she brought in, as she had three hours free. Her own dress was beautiful, and Anna was joking with her, that she could seduce all men on the party, and that Janet might be not very happy, if this should really happen. Sam retorted, that the kettle calls the pot black, and that Janet might be throw her out of her house.

" Oh, she probably knows already, that I won't marry Daniel. Cass told her for sure."

" Cass?"

" Yes. She asked Daniel, if he would marry me, and I told her, that we wouldn't marry. So Janet has nothing to fear, at least not from me."

" Oh, but you could turn someone else's head" Sam thought about the conversation with her dad, after Anna left.

" I have already told Daniel, that I'm not interested in Jack."

" He asked you?"

" Sure, and I'm not even interested in Graham."

" Who did ask you this?"

" Jack."

" And what did Teal'c ask?"

" How high is the highest mountain in my home."

" What?"

" As I had to run up that so called hill. It's a mountain in my home, so we were talking about mountains in my home."

" I see. And what about Major Ferretti?"

" I could never imagine to kiss him."

" And that's the condition?"

" Yes, you know the song."

" Yeah."

" Major Carter?"

" Sir?"

" If you two are ready, we could go" General Hammond said. " Major Warren and Jacob are waiting for us topside."

" Yes, sir. We are coming."

Jack was playing the head of the house, so he and Cass were greeting the arriving guests. And becasue a mistletoe was hanging above the door, everybody was greeted with a kiss. Cass took the men, and Jack took the girls.

" Hey, what held you so long?" he asked Anna and Sam, who were still standing outside, while Cass was escorting the men, coming with them, into the living room.

" I had something to do in my lab."

" Carter, you are hopeless. At least you are here, come on in!" he invited them in, motioning with his hand. Sam pushed Anna in, and Jack placed a light kiss on her lips. Anna was walking on towards the living room, although Sam called after, that she should wait for her. Anna didn't want to hear, not after she pushed her. Finally Sam stepped in, and Jack pulled her into his embrace, and gave her a breath-taking, heart-stopping kiss.

" Sir…"

" Quit the sir, Sam. It's Christmas."

" Yes, s..Jack."

" Come on! Your Dad is looking for you already."

" I think, Selmak made the High Council send Dad back to Earth for Christmas. You know, there were not many Christmases, we spent together. Mostly he called us to wish a merry christmas, but that was all."

" But he is here now."

" Yes, and whoever made this dream of me come true, I'm thankful."

As they stepped in, Jacob and Teal'c were standing on both sides of Anna, Cass was sitting between Major Warren and a very pale Lt. Simmons. But he just reassured Anna, that he is feeling better.

Daniel was helping Janet in the kitchen.

After the dinner, Sam was helping Cass to bring the dishes back to the kitchen, into the dish-washer. Anna was now sitting between General Hammond and Jack, and they were talking about Anna's country.

Daniel was sitting next to Janet, and Major Warren went out for his Santa hat, he had frogotten in his car.

" Anne is looking beautiful, don't you think, Daniel?"

" Yes" he nodded, after he looked at her. " And I almost got a stroke, as I saw Jack, in his smoking. I didn't even know, that he owns one."

" It's a strange picture to see all those men without their uniforms. Even you, Daniel. I always see you in BDUs or in some kind of military."

" Yes, they are useful. But there is one thing you should know, Janet. You are beautiful tonight. Not that you were not on every day of the year" he explained fast. " Cause you are, but tonight you are gleaming."

" Thank you, Daniel."

And thank Cass and Anna, who were taking her yesterday shopping, and convinced her to buy this dress. Janet thought, that the dress was nice, and that she looked good in it, but hearing this from Daniel, made her feel herself the most beautiful girl in the world.

After Cass arrived back, Anna gave her her place, and went to Teal'c.

" Do you have got a family?" she asked him.

" Yes, Ms David."

" I have already told you to call me Anne. And where are they?"

" At a safe place."

" Far away" Anna stated compassionately.

" Yes" he nodded.

" I'm sorry, Teal'c."

" I was there two weeks ago" his voice trailed off. It was not the usual visit, and now he regretted that.

" Do you have kids?" Anna asked him.

" A boy. Rya'c."

Anna could see the proud in his eyes, this Rya'c must be a lucky son.

" And what's the name of your wife?"

" Drey'auc."

" Drey'auc, and Rya'c" she tried herself, and earned a bow from Teal'c for emphasizing the names right. "I have got a younger sister, her name is Emese."

" Emese?" he asked back, and Anna gave him a small smile, it was good, not perfect, but good.
